When I hit my DIST and Binomial PD, I do not get what you have, I get something that looks like a table
@MrDenislynch
@MrDenislynch 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a different version than I do. As the video shows, I have an option between List or Var. You seem to go right into List. So, fill the first column with 1,2,3. After you enter 3, hit enter again and the screen will ask for n ( use 5) then P ( use .6) you’ll be taken back to the table and the second column is now filled in. Note that the entry for x=3 is .345 just like the video.

Hi, i have a question. I want to calculate P (T<=60) with n=100 and p=0,06. I have the problem, that the solution on the Casio is P (T<=60)=1 and that is wrong, Why does the Casio do this mistake?
@MrDenislynch
@MrDenislynch 5 жыл бұрын
So let's see. You're throwing a coin 100 times. The probability of heads is only 6% ( so tails is 94%) and you want to know the chances of getting 60 heads OR LESS? and you're surprised the odds round to 100% I'd be surprised you get two or three heads, much less 60. so the calculator is correct. But thanks for the question. I don't get a chance to think about this stuff anymore since I retired.

I have the FX-115 ES but when I enter mode and hit the down arrow, nothing happens. I don't have all of those other options that you have on yours. Even if I hit shift 1 while in stat mode, those options are not given.

I have two calculators, the FX-115 ES and the FX-1 15 ES PLUS. I don't think they sell the older model anymore. And yes, the older model doesn't support distributions. But hey, for 20 bucks you can do an upgrade.

Great catch, Carol, I meant poisson(3,4,true) instead of poisson(3,6,true). The 43% is correct, though. Nobody caught that in 6 years!

completely unrelated but i am stumped on this particular problem... (2 - √-2)(3 - √-2) = "now my assumption is to FOIL this, which i did and i got this" 6 - 2√-2 - 3√-2 + √4 6 - 2i√2 - 3i√2 + 2 7 - 5i√2 i assume this would be the answer but it is actually 4 - 5√2 my question is when you're multiplying -√-2 with -√-2 wouldn't it be +√4?
@bryanmuratalla2187
@bryanmuratalla2187 6 жыл бұрын
8 - 5i√2 i meant haha but still its the wrong answer =[
@bryanmuratalla2187
@bryanmuratalla2187 6 жыл бұрын
just figured it out.... i multiplied -√-2 • -√-2 all wrong it should be i√2 • i√2 which is iˆ2√2 and iˆ2 is just -1 or it can be written as -√4 which is -2 therefore 6 - 2i√2 - 3i√2 - 2 would come out to 4 - 5√2 haha thank Mr. Lynch i wish ITT never closed down, could've been cool to just show you in person

It looks like you got it right now. I*sqrt(2) * isqrt(2) is just -2. There are some rules of real numbers that don't apply to imaginary numbers. Note that sqrt(-25) * sqrt(-4) is NOT equal to sqrt((-25)*(-4))

You had three successes, the chance of success is .6, so that's .6 to the third power. you had two failures, so that's .4 to the second power.

Thank you much. However, where I just loose it and just give up out of sheer mortal frustration is this bullshit " f(g)= abcd+ efgh of g of x blah blah blah". I HATE the fact that stupid ITT-Tech ( and probably the majority of colleges nationwide) think this crap is RELEVANT to a person in the NSA ( network system administration) program since NO I.T. professionals ever use even basic algebra let alone this crap in their daily work...even when calcuated subnets or dealing with knowing if a subnet mask is 24 bit or 32 bit. I'd rather take a foreign language ( hell even LATIN ) than to deal with this crap. Linear Equations? Sure I can see the logic in that and I can see real world uses for that also. Geometry, obviously VERY useful. I used in back in 99' when I worked for Sutherlands while building wooden storage houses for them and in lumber department.
