I have a problem after updating Half Life 25 that when I install Sturmbot to dod, I enter the map, when I go up the stairs it pushes me to another side and how do I solve it?

Luckily I've solved this problem. I just have to copy config.cfg and paste it into autoexec.cfg before opening the game. When I enter the game, I open the command line and type exec autoexec.cfg and that's it.

The quality of this video is quite low, (sorry) the Font in the new HUD look better than the video. Point of the video was to give a overview of my Version 11 GUI/HUD. The Custom HUD still isn't great, the fonts on Source games may not be rendering good under Wayland, I'll try another OS/desktop.

In this case it's not a Linux native, this is using Proton in steam (allowing windows files). All dod steam 1.3 bot programs will not run on a Linux native listen server. DoD:Source (RCBot2) does run on Linux native as it is a MetaMod:Source plugin. But for dod 1.3, Sturmbot, ShrikeBot and Marine Bot I have not found a solution for Linux Listen server. Closest I got was Sturmbot (1.6 it's very old) and this error... /home/kim/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Half-Life/dod/sturmbot/dlls/sturmbot-i486.so: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Awesome video mate. Im currently in the process of waypointing over 50 custom maps that i couldn't find waypoints for already in either the downloads or on the forums. I find the process rather relaxing and used to do a lot of maps for the original dod. Thanks again for all the tips

No problem, I'll try and do one with the keyboard binds in an overlay, the binds really do help the speed. Printing out the image of the binds and posting that near you helps I find. I too find the task relaxing... been busy working on about 10 PC's, laptops, tablets and phones, upgrades and broken stuff. Yeah ive got the current bindings printed out for quick reference which after waypointing 3 maps already in the last 2 days ive mostly committed these to muscle memory. The only key binding im looking to change to a more useful key bind is the one that turns on auto waypointing as i dont intend to use that.

Im also trying to figure out when best to use and not use the "route" waypoint type. From testing it appears to change the decisions that bots make when presents multiple paths but im not sure whether to use these sparingly or more frequently

Thanks for the guide mate, i've been looking for waypoints for dod_palazzo_b5 and dod_manche_b1 but haven't had any luck (checked forums and all the packs etc). I might end up making waypoints for these myself though as i remember waypointing a bunch of maps back in the original DoD days (which was either sturmbot or rcbot).

I cannot find dod_palazzo_b5 and dod_manche_b1 waypoints. However there is a waypoint for dod_manche. In that case you can load dod_manche waypoints into dod_manche_b1 and see if they work. Guide for that - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWPTYqOJqb6ol8k

No, I just made the RCBot2 waypoints for it. I couldn't be sure of the mapper, this series of maps date way back to 2006 -2013 and the mapper didn't place a name in this case.

Okay, it seems that i have found my issue here, for some reason my temp, and learn files were getting corrupted or something on certain maps, deleting and regenerating has seemed to fix the issue, but ive never ran into this before so I guess ill see if I have to reinstall soon.

Yes it is a common issue and in the manual. Temp and learn files can be deleted and not affect the waypoints file. However, they do override waypoint files and confuse the instructions to the bots when playing. If you ever change a waypoint file, you should also delete the learn and temp files too.

can you possible help me with an issue with sturmbot? its very frustrating and i cant narrow it down to anything, for some reason, the bots have started to run in circles and use the "squad, stick together" command endlessly, ive reinstalled and no luck, this is really confusing.....

I think the bots run in circles when they can't figure out what is next... it's like they are thinking "I don't know which way to go... I have capped all the flags that I can see and we haven't won yet... I don't know why". Using the methods used in the last video, For regular flags: >Flag >Waypoint Connect Menu (choose flag from list) to connect to the physical flag, then add a NAVIGATION flag (non-team specific), For CAPTURE AREAs: >Cap Area >Waypoint Connection Menu (choose flag) >Navigation flag Hope this helps :)

Yes do it, I was blown away when I first walked through the house. There are a couple of corners in the real house I bump my shoulder on if half asleep. Guess what... it was the same in the game :) House is actually being renovated this year, have to make another one now.

The latest RCBot2 version seem fine, SturmBot had 600 waypoints and this one has 84. CS: Source v34 is the pre-orangebox CSS...correct? I was not making HUD's for CSS pre-orangebox but it is a "no steam type"...yes? I have a full tutorial on the SteamPipe version of the files, I don't see why you could not use that to edit a no steam version... www.dodbits.com/dods/index.php/css/css-hud-and-gui-modification Most of my files were either orangebox of steampipe, both of those have HUD files that are very close to V34, the files in a HUD on all those versions did not change too much, it would be a matter of backing up a install, apply the files, see what breaks and something like the scoreboard you would take away cstrike/resource/UI/scoreboard.res and and put in the version 34 file from the back up. I don't play CSS anymore and I don't play no steam but I will take questions on anyone who wants to take my HUD and convert themselves.

Please, pay atention, mr. dodbits (and partners). FOR DEVELOPERS OF BOTS SYSTEM: A long time i trying to contact someone who develope any Bots system for Dod. The reason is that I am a fan of Dod Classic with bots (old system "Sturmbot") since beta 3.1 version (around the years 2001/2002). However, with the death of the developer "Johan 'Jowo' Linde" (Tsunami-2005), the project "Sturmbot" was interrupted (in version 1.7). I understand that may no longer be possible to reactivate it in Dod:S, but my opinion is that a system of bots for Dod:Source should follow roughly the same path trodden by "Jowo". One of the greatest qualities of old Sturmbot is the ability of the AI to interact as a squad-team, in which the soldier was emit voice and gestures commands, one to each other (the Sturmbot wore the animations and voices, existing as standard in the game). Consequently, the soldiers could be decide to obey or not to obey the order of the voice command (and gesture). This characteristic made the atmosphere of game much more dramatic (like a thriller movie, similar to the famous "Saving private Ryan"), because the human player could be hear (and see) the commands of his own team and the screams (and gestures) of the enemy, when they were approaching. All this causing a feeling of being in a real war (as in game "Medal of Honor: Alied Assault - MOH:AA"). I tried to recreate the same game experience of Dod classic with bots in Dod:S, but in the currents Systems of bots for Dod:S there are no equal resources as in the old Sturmbot. I am not able to program bots, but many people would like to get the same experience of playing Dod:S like the old and good Sturmbot system. With this suggestion i also put a link to the changelog of old Sturmbot. dodbits Kinda hard at the begin, but seemed easy with the tutorial. Didn't to change that much anyways. More the hud and everything that apper there to blue, red, green, Blue and Red = NOD, LimeGreen = Tiberium. My Skins are NOD for T and GDI for CT, So it fits pretty well now. Just a question, I managed to remove the Counter Strike: Source from my Menu Screen so it showed the message Welcome Back, Commander. from th Bacground, anyways to change the other text from the Menu to Red Or Lime Green?

***** You need to edit the ClientScheme.res and look for.... // Top-left corner of the "Counter-Strike" on the main screen That section has a color setting and note that the "source" word has it's own section and color setting just below that. These settings use the RGB color settings.
