Well the world record of 180.47 is held by a 43OL with 2x1650s. This boat with its 1550s in operation should run about 170 +/-.

@@dieseldog00 It is. It can run four. Beam is 9'. The two most outer gearcases will be 6'6" apart. Not a problem what so ever.

Those are not meant to go fast. They are for big heavy ocean going CC's and other allrounders.

I'm wrong about the V12 600 weight. They're 1260lbs per Merc. That's still quite heavy but they're being fitted on the big center consoles now. I've seen five on MTI 50' CCs and six on the HCA 65s.

@@dieseldog00 Still does not change the fact that the entire design of the lower unit and props are not meant to go this fast. There's a reason why ME, Adrenaline, Cigarette and Mystic won't install them if you ask them to build you a fast boat. And they take up a lot of space. A hull that will carry six 500R's will only carry four 600's typically. MTI will not run five on the M5200, only four, and it will be significantly slower than a boat with six 500R's.

I dont think that your right! If you look at old Submarines you can see that in the 60' they started with this kind of Props. Silent and fast.....

You are definitely not a powerboater. For many years? People stopped running two blade props in the early 80's. There are so many issues associated with them. Vibration and harmonics are the two biggest. They shake everything apart, and engines have gotten significantly more powerful over the years. Also, back then even cleavers were ran deeper, which made them a bit easier to use. A two blade prop, even in a multi engine application, can best be described with one word. Dangerous. And even if you have multiple engines, you still have issues with harmonics, bite and slip. Prop design has come a long way, and even four blade props are long gone, even in multi engine surface prop applications. Do you really think that Bob Hering of Hering Propellers, Brett Anderson of BBlades or the late Dennis Cavanaugh of Mercury Racing fame would run more blades if it did not work? These guys are in it to win it, and what is used on these pleasure boats, is the same as we see in race boats. The only place you now see three blade props, are in Unlimited Hydro, some bass boats, some pad bottoms and drag boats. Even Champ and other tunnels now run five blade and even six.
