Let me make this simple. American conservatives mostly seek the common good rather than power. Socialists seek power rather than common good. Now that i've made that clear, you can stop trying to "understand" the other side, and focus on defeating them instead.

You are eschewing the chance of a lifetime to talk/not talk with me, madame. People as me number in the handfuls on this planet. Theists, like you, number in the billions. I see eye to eye with Albert Einstein, so if you won't lower yourself to speak witb a non-academic person like me, then pretend you are talking with Albert Einstein. My IQ is in the top .01 percentile and my alma mater costs $78,000 a year and admits around 1600 annually. So it's not like you're comoletely lowering yourself. Look at it this way. I am your only chance not to waste the rest of your life.

Been reading some of your "work"...you are a nightmare. Just because becoming a wife and mother was what you aspired to does not mean all of us should be forced too. (Actually I find it interesting that I can't find any mention of whether you are a wife or mother anywhere, but I didn't search really hard. I would think since it seems to be so important to you, you would mention it. To say the election of Trump - a horrid human being- was worth it to outlaw abortion shows how little you REALLY care about life. He has made life miserable for this nation. And you claim that after abortion is outlawed, then you "prolifers" will come together and finally provide all the services the women you are forcing to bear children need???? What about all the years so many have needed help???? What about all the Already Born Children all of you have ignored for decades??? Thankfully few people watch you. Today, getting a medical abortion was saved by the FDA, and I Thank the same God you claim doesn't like abortion. I cannot begin to tell you how my life would have been ruined had I been forced to have a baby at 18. It was have been beyond horrible. Plenty of women who need abortions are in worse places than I was. And don't tell me you haven't read about women who DIED from not being allowed to have an abortion. You really believe that is right??? You are cruel and terrible. And guess what? You won't stop much abortion, you just made it more worse for the women who must get one. I would have done anything to get one. How about focusing on PREVENTION of pregnancy in the first place, and making the world better for Already Born Children?? There are millions you could be helping.

Great discussion, but was barely audible, with KZbin volume and pc volume at highest level. Either the sound in this video is being deliberately lowered, or sound on your end could be adjusted a bit?

I am grateful for some of these critical comments. we don't need the expressive individualist sounding off, we need more of Maritain, Rommen and others of the spirit for a true sense of the common good. We have lost that in our public discourse, We must try even if the odds are overwhelming against it, to strive for solidarity in finding again our common human nature.

Go and read the Wikipedia entry on this guy. He's scary. It also makes me wonder why so many extremist crazies - and Vermuele is certainly a prime example of extremism - are coming out of Harvard.

Marxism, fascism, Integralism are just variations on a theme: the elite deserve power over others.
@orpheus90373 жыл бұрын
@@CRS1952 Well, I'll grant you this - somebody has to have power, but Vermuele would literally knock us back into the stone age by imposing a notion of leadership equipped with near-absolute power and who would most certainly rule by wielding an absolutist moral agenda. Sounds like an invitation for scoundrels, holding the Bible in one hand and wrapping themselves in the flag with the other - so to speak, the guy imagines a world that was literally laughed off the stage in the 17th century in Moliere's Tartuffe. Which begs another thought about Vermuele: the man is civically and culturally illiterate. He really knows absolutely nothing about human beings as they understand the world in a 21st century liberal democracy - save that it's all bad. For a man presumably so brilliant, this is unforgivable. As they once said of Rick Santorum: He's the finest mind .... of the 16th century (or was it the 14th?).

@@CRS1952 Unfortunately, tone deafness seems so often to be mistaken for the marker of invincible, righteous rule. Trump certainly showed us what a delusion that was.

Isn't it wonderful to call everyone who disagrees with you an 'extremist', and thereby avoid having to engage in dialogue that might force you to recognize the weakness of your own positions?
@CRS19523 жыл бұрын
You are erudite and circumspect. You have a much simpler and easier to understand guiding principal that you seem loathe to reveal. The first question from Chris called you out a bit but you were characteristically evasive. I think I will need to look elsewhere for your link between Integralism and the common good.
