Gig Performer!

GP is so much easier to work with in setting up MIDI on multiple VST instruments than my DAW; with multiple MIDI inputs. Then use the GP relayer into the DAW to record. Using Tripleplay on one of my guitars to a left and right synth, use the transpose plugin to drop the right hand down an octave through an arpegiator, through GP relayer then through my outputs. Spent an hour trying to do it innmy DAW, couldn't get it right, took 5 minutes to get it setup in GP.

Igor, this is exactly what I'm trying to set-up, switching Virtual Guitar Amp presets, using the Markers in the Streaming Audio Backing track. Specifically Switching between two presets in Gojira, the Rhythm and the Lead presets. I'm using Neural DSP Gojira, but if you could do a video setting up the triggered Switching it would be AWESOME!! I can upload my .gig file, with all the Markers in place, if you want to make a video of that, tweaking where I've got it wrong? Or even a video using YOUR on-board Virtual Guitar Amps, that would work too. I'll be able to see how you did it. Or maybe even just some advice on how to do it? I've tried using different RackSpaces, but the noise in the transition is BRUTAL, and not usable in a "Live" situation. I'm hoping there is a way to do this using one Rackspace and one instance of Gojira? Like maybe a Program change via the Midi Number of the preset, or some other method that doesn't require using a second RackSpace. And did I mention I want to do this for the Second Guitarist as well, Using the Nolly plugin. My long term goal is to set-up a complete stage set-up for my Band, virtual bass amp and keyboards and drums as well, with some sounds on the backing track mp3. I know it's a lofty goal, but I think you're the right Man, to steer me in the right direction.
@robjames66539 күн бұрын
Igor, thank you for the video, but you don't actually show how to set-up the widgets. Can you start with an empty .gig and build it from there? Preferably in widescreen. What I'm trying to do is, switch between 2 Goijra presets, one for Rhythm and one for Leads. I'd like to do it within one Rackspace, and preferably using a variation. How does one know what midi number a preset is in Goijra, when they only have names not numbers? I would prefer to use only one instance of Gojira, and only change presets in a variation, not 2 instances of Gojira each with a different preset loaded. I can upload my .gig file, for you to modify, if that helps?

The point of that video was to demonstrate that latency is not as much of an issue as people believe. It was not an instructional video about how to use GP. Sorry.

I've only been using GP for about 3 weeks. The one thing I hope they add to GP someday is a way to graphically show you your splits. I understand that we build muscle memory as we learn to choreograph our performances, but it would really be nice to bring up a separate window or panel that GP could intuitively display how you have your stuff mapped out for a given rackspace. All of the metadata is there if you name your blocks properly.
@DavidJamesonPhD10 күн бұрын
We never promise if/when we will have new features because we don't want customers to purchase GP in anticipation of a feature that never materializes. That said, a graphically view is high on our list :-)

I was about to give GP another go but my demo was already expired. I would like to ask some questions ,though. Is it possible to control plugin's parameters by playing notes? I would like to controll freqyency slider in Waves RBass with the notes that i play. I'd also like to ask ,if it's possible to assign patches(using mainstage's terminology) to a midi controller. For exame switching from patch A to patch F using midi controller?

As for the trial, please create a new support ticket and explain about the demo. For your other questions, yes, all is possible. Especially in terms of MIDI, I believe that Gig Performer has the most advanced (yet easiest) MIDI support in the industry.
@DavidJamesonPhD15 күн бұрын
1) Is it possible to control plugin's parameters by playing notes Yes - concept is like the traditional Keyboard Follow on synths. MIDI In Blocks have a parameter called NoteFollow - you can map a widget to that parameter then map another widget to the frequency slider (or indeed any parameter of any plugin), link the widgets and then play. You can also scale the second widget to control the range and even reverse it 2) ,if it's possible to assign patches(using mainstage's terminology) to a midi controller I assume you mean that you want to be able to select a song or part by sending a message from your controller. If that's what you mean, then of course -- that's plugin host 101 functionality.

Thank you guys for creating the greatest live performance tool I've seen so far. Marty, I am really struggling trying to get this to do the simplest things. All I want to do is stream my backing track mp3 and scroll the lyrics and chords. I can't even get started, I can't load an mp3 nor move the lyric sheet from the SongLyricsChord to the Setlist page. I'm on 5.0.9. I saw that you accessed the streaming audio file player from Internal Plugins, but I can't even find that. I don't want to do anything fancy like play a VSTi "Live", because all my synths are in the mp3's. I just want to stream my mp3 while scrolling my lyrics and chords in time with that audio. I really need help in understanding this thing. It would be a HUGE boost to my Show if I could just figure this thing out. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!

@neilmeehan1305Ай бұрын
So it sounds like you reinvented mainstage?
@DavidJamesonPhDАй бұрын
Really? Was that your take? By that silly logic, every new DAW is just reinventing a previous DAW, every new car is just reinventing an older car, etc. Sure, GP has some basic things in common with other live performance hosts just like each DAW has some things in common with other DAWs or just like all cars generally have four wheels and a steering wheel. That hardly makes them all "reinventions". As clearly explained in the description, this video is designed for absolute beginners and Cameron himself comments that "[this video has] only just scratched the surface" to get started. If you already know something about live performance hosts, then perhaps you should just download GP and try it for a few weeks to understand what it can do for you. Unless of course you're just trolling!
