I think this is pretty clever for heritage railways because it shows how the trains can’t run without your donation

The only thing to do with n or ho scale locomotive if it doesn't work and cant be fixed is strip it's mechanicals out and yet it be a non power control unit

At that point you might have to just put a diesel behind it and use it as a dummy Loco and make it seem like it’s running

The unquartered wheels are the result of the nylon gears and axles cracking overtime (fixable with CA glue or replacement gears/axle)

I first saw Bob on Mark Found's Garden Railway series and at once I found him to be an enjoyable person. He always appears to have a smile on his face which shows just how much he loves this hobby. He even came to my old miniature railway club which even featured on one of his programmes talking about model engineering. If there were to be more Model Railway themed programmes made in the future, we need more presenters like Bob who sees the potential in railway modelling and not joke about it being an old fashion hobby.

Darth Santa Fe made a decent video on repairing an old Bachmann split chassis loco, if you can get the driveline sorted and everything mechanical working then try making some tender pickups, a far more reliable connection than picking up through the axles Electrical faults (barring a cooked motor) are far, far easier to rectify than something mechanical

@@modelrailwaysandme the last layout I had, was once in my nan's back lobby, before the roof of it leaked..all over the board. FORTUNATELY, most of it was salvageable, but everything else wasn't

Last month I bought a Mainline Manor Class and it was very similar. The axles all split and it was a nightmare to glue them back together. Some came loose again, but it's now able to carry it's own weight. I still like the model though. Old Mainline locos are well known for split axles and if someone tells me a model doesn't run I wont touch it because it's many hours of work to correctly quarter the wheels, clean the chassis and the motor. The one resurrection which went wrong was a Tri-ang BR Flying Scotsman. That one had a chassis issue and it burned three motors. Had to throw it sadly and buy another new chassis, but I always keep the spare parts even when I decide to "scrap" a locomotive. I have one final Mainline loco coming this month, a Modified Hall and I'm curious if it will be a 10 minute clean or a 2 hour quartering job.

So, driver and fireman in train cab and passengers in real carriages, will there be the same in the models, thus giving a true rendition of railways life? Or will it be the usual ECS or painted out black windows, thus negating the need for a proper job, by taking the easy way out? If you are only going to portray half the picture, you may as not bother at all, because i am ex-train crew, (both guard and driver) and will not be watching if you don't.
