Nice mix of fish on top and on the spoon. You do way better than I can on the jetty, I usually sacrifice a good bit of tackle in the process.
@laketogulffishing Жыл бұрын
It's a process for sure I lost some tackle learning where you can cast to and jig the the bottom. Currently trying to see if changing to different hooks helps with keeping gear without sacrificing the hook up ratio too much.

The loop looked pretty big and if you bend the nose and tail downward, the lure will not foul (as much). I use a lighter action on my retrieve. More of an up / down-up / down. Not so much a big twitch.

Thanks. ill do the adjustments and try that retrieve see if I get better results.

Just saw your video. I've been going to baffin bay a lot this year and mainly fishing from the pier. Have done pretty good always catch a lot but looking for some bigger trouts and redfish. Caught a lot of nice drum from the piers. Wanting to pursue some wade fishing in the baffin bay area. So where was this? I have shore fished Drum point and did good once, but thinking of area 55 now that winter is here. Any suggestions? Subscribed now I need to check your other videos. Thanks
@laketogulffishing Жыл бұрын
I think this was the last time I touched baffin, lol. Suggestion is to find a transition in the bottom when wading from hard sand to mud or rock, grass if you can find it and sudden changes in dept. Here I felt like it got deeper closer to shore and got lucky I found 2 trout. Try using a search bait something you can fish fast and slow down when you get on some fish.

How do you keep from not getting caught up on branches and rocks when fishing off the banks at falcon lake. Several years ago....at the boat ramp in the state park...you could catch cats and have fun there all day and not get snagged. Also any ideas for holding chicken liver to the hooks without flying off when casting?
@laketogulffishing2 жыл бұрын
The water was pretty low that day so I could see the stumps but a flat weigh helps lift your line when you reel in fast. And just a soft cast for the chicken livers but if you want to bomb cast out prepare the liver by making like a pouch with pantyhose. If you do it right it's like finding with fish bites .
@HJGJR442 жыл бұрын
@@laketogulffishing the flat weights you mean the pancake looking ones? Also yea i think i used a roll of gauze before to hold chicken liver before. The state park i dont think has very good spots. You gotta cast deep out there to get any bites.

@@HJGJR44 yes those weights they flutter like a spoon.

@@laketogulffishing what rig do you recommend for catching from the bank.? For what fish will it work and what bait. Thinking of going to falcon lake soon. More than anything to have kids experience fishing. Thanks!
@laketogulffishing2 жыл бұрын
@@HJGJR44 pretty much anything related to long casting In surf fishing double drop and Carolina rigs. Natural baits and chicken livers will work for catfish. Preparado carp baits and corn worked really well for the carp. If you can catch some livebait you can catch catfish and maybe some bass if you don't want to use lures

Try catching some bluegill,there's some huge catfish in that area! That's my old fishing spot under that bridge! I would catch bluegills there with a small bobber and live worms then go to the pipe you started off at for some nice kitties! Biggest one I caught was about 8lbs! Usually nocturnal around 9pm is when I got them to bite! After this cool front blows in will be perfect the water is still warm at night and you can feel it in the air just how warm it is on the years first cool fronts! Just take bug spray them skeeters get thick there at night! That's my old neighbors two story house you are fishing behind! Lines tight and fish on!!
