Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK! Pu'u Honua O Pi'iholo! To all those who are of the same mind frame as Jackson Browne expresses here, (hopefully not anymore), "don't ask me if He'll show - I don't know.!?" Please, if you don't know the beautiful prophetic significance of this song, and the admonition to come to know, Jesus Christ, the real, one and only "EVERYMAN," who gave His Life for everyman, NOW, is the only time you have to Repent and believe the Good News of the Kingdom of God, and the King who will be here shortly! Speaking the Truth in Aloha, your friend and brother in Christ, Maka'ala Stone

Everybody I talk to is ready to leave With the light of the morning They've seen the end coming down long enough to believe That they've heard their last warning Standing alone Each has his own ticket in his hand And as the evening descends I sit thinking 'bout Everyman Seems like I've always been looking for some other place To get it together Where with a few of my friends I could give up the race And maybe find something better But all my fine dreams Well thought out schemes to gain the motherland Have all eventually come down to waiting for Everyman Waiting here for Everyman- Make it on your own if you think you can If you see somewhere to go I understand Waiting here for Everyman- Don't ask me if he'll show - baby I don't know Make it on your own if you think you can Somewhere later on you'll have to take a stand Then you're going to need a hand Everybody's just waiting to hear from the one Who can give them the answers And lead them back to that place in the warmth of the sun Where sweet childhood still dances Who'll come along And hold out that strong and gentle father's hand? Long ago I heard someone say something 'bout Everyman Waiting here for Everyman- Make it on your own if you think you can If you see somewhere to go I understand I'm not trying to tell you that I've seen the plan Turn and walk away if you think I am- But don't think too badly of one who's left holding sand He's just another dreamer, dreaming 'bout Everyman

Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK! Pu'u Honua O Pi'iholo! To those with ears to hear! To the gathering of the Lord's Last Generation-Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones! (That were embedded in the Baby Boomer Generation!) The significance of this beautiful song, for those who know the prophetic Word of God, in its application of the Present Truth (December 14, 2022), should bring Joy to our souls as we patiently wait for "EveryMan;" as we keep His Commandments; and, as we live out the Faith and Righteousness of Him, Who, gave His Life that we may have Life Everlasting! Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK! Here we are almost 50 years later, surely by now we should know that it is the Lord Jesus Christ, that he is singing about, who promised He would return! JB probably didn't realize it was about Jesus he was singing about symbolically, but the shoe fits! He is at the shore, the Ark is here ready to pick up those who, as it says in Revelation 14:12, Here is the patience of the Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, here are they that keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus! Rejoice, and lift up your heads for your redemption draws near! Hale-lujah!!!

@@makaalastone9061 this song woke me up from sleeping last year when I was struggling to buy the house I was renting- I had to humble myself and ask for help in so many different ways . This song was so appropos for me and I agree with you! Christian living people helped me get this house - Jesus comes to us through people . They ( handyman ) wouldn’t let me pay - they said it’s what Christians do ! I somehow became a homeowner during a housing crisis ! Praise God !

Although there is some light in many of the songs that was inspired by the Aloha Spirit that was poured in the "Former Rain time" 1965-66, through 1979-80, in the Word of God, the Holy Bible KJV, the Sun of Righteousness shines the brightest! Thank you for uploading! I believe that this was an answer song to the David Crosby song "Wooden Ships". I seem to remember reading somewhere that this song has also been compared to Jackson Browne's own song "Rock Me On The Water" (I can't remember where I read that, but I also seem to remember from that same source, that both songs have been interpreted as being about an apocalypse, but with the apocalyptic theme being more subtle in this song than in "Rock Me On The Water"). As with any song centered around a theme of "waiting", this is another one that resonates for me in the midst of COVID (now that there are new mutations of the virus, such as the infamous "Delta" variant, the end of the pandemic is something that virtually everyone is "waiting for", and songs whose lyrical content that can be interpreted as being about an apocalypse, also resonate for me in COVID). Back to this song, according to the album's liner notes, David Crosby performs the backing vocals on here. Other musicians on the track include Jackson Browne himself playing acoustic guitar, along with guitarist David Lindley, organist Mike Utley, pianist Craig Doerge, bassist Leland Sklar and drummer Russ Kunkel. BTW, who could give Jackson Browne a dislike?

Check out "Before the Deluge" by Jackson Browne. Definitely apocalyptic. But I really never thought of For Everyman as apocalyptic. That's what makes music great. Different listener, different interpretation.

@@John-dw6ru I'm very familiar with that song, that's the closing track on Browne's third album, "Late For The Sky", that song showcases David Lindley's instrumental versatility, as Lindley played fiddle on that track. Speaking of which, did you know that David Lindley died earlier this year from long-term complications of covid?
