Nice work overall. My Skynetic Dragonfly is like the Hobby King Skipper: Delta shape with high-mounted motor. I get full ground effect and the nose is buoyant enough to get a nice launch. I wouldn’t say copy that design, just know that you’ll need more float in a plane that is not foam.

Maybe incorporating a line of air ducts within a single wing so air passes over, under and through a wing would be interesting to find out the results of the lift capacity and flow of the air plus air vortices along with other technical elements etc. that occur in this type of design ???

7:28 the hole you see here is probably the place where one of the two dorsal defense turrets were mounted, probably the frontal one near the cockpit used by the navigator / radioman when under fire due to the lack of proximity to the tail (where the secondary top turret was mounted for dedicated gunner use). Seems about the size to mount one of those dual .50 cal top turrets as well, enough to stand up and shoot the guns and nothing else lol It’s crazy to think that some time ago people were there, just within that space below that hole in the radio and navigation room, guiding that once airborne warbird through the skies as she fulfilled her mission :)

Think about a propulsin method like a 'twin screw gear' vise. A central prop turns a cog to surrounding sides. with 3D printing, you could potentially have a global toroidal prop. I wonder if you could also have toroidal impellers inside a tesla valve.

Had two thoughts. 1. A sliding counterweight front to back for stability at speed. 2. BIGGER. Probably solve the issues with slightly choppy water, and improve stability.

That's actually the best concept quadcopter in a flat platform. The blades give you flight if needed at altitudes above waves, but hover in ground effect is very efficient othertimes, speed not so important, think about what I just wrote if you want it as a four seater to go on a trip somewhere, its a very capable concept with a combustion engine. No pilot licence or airworthiness needed.

Can you do a 4G Mod on the plane, and distance test it? See if a super lightweight Solar Panel could keep the batteries charged for longer flight times? I'd buy one of these in an instant if I knew it was 4G Mod compatible. I've been looking at the Parrot Disco for five years at this point, considering a purchase, but the $900 price has always held me short.

this seems dumb because at this point why not use ground effect, but... What if you went for something bigger to create ground effect in a smaller capacity, with a lower angled wing to generate less drag, while using a pressure sensor underneath the wing to tell the plane how close it is to the ground?

I think a small carbon fiber catamaran style with the panels as a roof would be grat for more comfort, and a better overall experience, probably more expensive but I think it would be worth tey it

You're gonna need a bigger boat.

Allthough an extreme example, this brings to mind one of the main reasons that RC models of most kinds are way out of scale to reality. Even model railroading to a certain point is out of scale to the real world. But as we all know, big boys must have their toys...right?

You might want to build a small wind tunnel to get the basic aerodynamic controls and tuning right before destroying the models with 400' drops. Wright brothers this thing!
