Hi, Can you just start off with a carbon sheert locked in the cnc machien ?

Cool video and idea. However even 1:1 vehicles aren’t doing 100k miles without routine maintenance. So while you test is cool it’s like driving your car and never doing an oil change or anything.

That's awesome. If you cropped the top off the footage that starts around 17:20, the docks would look like Soviet-era concrete buildings at scale. Pretty wild.

Is there any way you can run a slightly shorter gear ration between motor and props instead of direct drive? You might be able to run the motor at higher rpm and thus even get the prop faster, without having to use a tiny inefficient propeller.

Could you put two stabs, one forward and one aft, such that the aft one provides nose down and the forward one provides nose up? The idea being that they cancel eachother out when both are in the water, but if one leaves the water the remaining one will correct your pitch.

wonderful build!! so exciting. Also you should use gyroid infil instead of cubic. way stronger for same infill %age

Is there a possibility of running the various designs through a computer simulation program - this would definitely save having to expend a significant amount of physical material.

Ever consider there was a reason they used eight engines on the original? It took a huge push to get it airborne and stable. At least initially.

Next time use gyroid as your infill. You'll be able to empty it out that way as technically you can print using gyroid and if you wanted, fill the entire print with liquid, every space can be filled OR emptied.

you should make an rc boat that has hydro foils but instead the purpose of the hydro foils arent to be under water, it should be skipping/skimming across the surface of the water.

Tip: before hot glueing in servos, wrap them in painters tape. Later it will be easy to get them clean.

The center of gravity is way too far forward causing a nose dive. You have to point downward thrust to counter it which is not going to work. Another problem is the tiny leverage of fans being near the fuselage. Moving the fans up on top of the wings on the outside would solve both problems. Then fix the angle on incidence and maybe have some flap dudes to trap more air for the lift/ground effect. You could probably get away with just 2 fans in that setup. If you try to design the MAC like an ordinary airplane, then you are going to need lots of speed to get lift. Instead go all-in for ground effect and trap lots of air between the wing and the water. You could also add some stubby little hydrofoil winglets under the belly to lessen the teeter-totter nose planting and get that tail out of the water.

What if you moved the main wing back then get rid of the flaps on the motor pods and make a tunnel to the main wing.maybe shorten the tail section up to the next step

Off the cuff, your wing incidence is too low, but towards the end of your vid sounds like you realized that...Definitely cool and a lot of work!

Why not use 2 hydrofoils for better pitch stability? If you are powering this thing with motors you won't be pumping it anyway.
