I loved Dan and Blair so much. They were perfect for each other. It seems like a fairytale, lonely boy and queen bee. Chuck and Blair were too toxic and many of the good things that Chuck could do for Blair was because he was rich. But Blair and Dan had a slow burn, enemies to friends to lovers arc. It would have been so beautiful and fun to watch. They both started scheming together. My assumption is that Dan was never gossip girl because that ruins his every relationship ever. The worst thing was that In season 6, Blair went to her old ways of hating on Dan and calling him someone from Brooklyn who could never measure upto their standards. How can you both just become your old self? They both were in love and even if they got over it, their friendship ran way deeper than that. They endured so much together as friends. It was just horrible what they did to them. Shouldn't have started the lovers thing with them and let them stay friends or Shouldn't have broken them up.

DAIR is still my all time favorite TV couple. Watching their scenes in KZbin because it's been a while and still haven't found a TV couple I ship as hard as DAIR. Been a fan of how the relationship was built from Season 1 as enemies who can't stand each other to being good friends, to the whole love hate/in denial/witty fun banter relationship. It just all made sense and the way it happened just came naturally. Just sad the writers had to end the series for fan service (CHAIR/DERENA) and didn't even give them the proper ending they deserved
