Wow Congratulations! As a Cab lover, esp. Napa cabs, my visit to SLV was an experience I will never forget, to say the least I even wrote something, so waxing poetic 😂 which I doubt I’ll share anywhere but someday I should come back and share with someone over there.

Would it work to open newer vintages too, or would they be too tight to open this way? Quite often I get cork pieces by other methods of opening.

i like artemis but love cask 23 just not affordable so i buy one every 10 years. The last Cask 23 I had was 2012 it was fantastic.

2023 was a spectacular growing season absolutely amazing, long slow cool and moist and produced the best grapes I have seen since I started my winemaking career. The cabernet that we received at our winery last year was something special. I think that its going to be a vintage that goes down in history as one of the best. The previous 4-5 years were bad to awful with significantly decreased yields and quality was not great with what we did get.

Even though the judgement of Paris showed that California wine in general was nowhere near Bordeaux in consistency, it did show that a good bottle can come from anywhere.

Received a five pack of these 2019 and 18 vintages for a retirement gift. Had one so far and it was wonderful but probably still need a little more time to bottle age. Looking forward to the rest

Does the long side and short side pierce the cork? Or go on the side of the cork?
@stagsleap7 ай бұрын
That is a great question. Both the long and short side go on either side of the cork, giving it a gentle hug as you slowly pull the ah-so and cork out of the bottle.

It would be interesting to taste the same wine one having been aged in steel and one in barrel and another in steel with wood chips added, to see how they hold up after two decades, because I think a wines contact with wood is an integral part of its ability to age well as wood introduces many compounds and also converts other compounds into more stable ones which also helps fight off oxidation.

Incredibly informative! Thank you for sharing your insight, it very much helps wine lovers who want to know more about the process of making great wine. Very hard to find people/wine makers who are willing to explain it and/or who do it in a digestible way, no pun intended. Cheers. Looking forward to more great content.

What the fk is up with people shooting video vertically? No wonder this great video has so few likes. Our eyes were placed on our heads HORIZONTALLY for a reason, folks...
@TheDrewTT2 жыл бұрын
Literally says it’s shot on Instagram… y’know, like where most users use their phones vertically??? It was originally streamed live, this is just the uploaded VOD. We should just be grateful they uploaded it at all
@CribNotes2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDrewTT Shooting video vertically is everywhere. Over time, it's unnatural framing will make human vision more "narrow" in every sense of the word.
@TheDrewTT2 жыл бұрын
@@CribNotes well yeah, shooting videos with the most easily accessible device makes a lot of sense. But I’ve never seen someone record an Instagram Live session specifically with a phone and also a separate camera, and then go through the hassle of uploading it. Sounds like a lot of fussing for nothing
@CribNotes2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDrewTT That's where sucker humans let their digital masters' hardware control how they see the world. The tech is supposed to adjust to you, not the other way around. We see the world horizontally, not vertically! It's guaranteed to make us all dumber and less artistic over time.
