Great step by step tutorial, down to the fine details. This has helped me polish my double under hook stack pass. Thank you.👊🏼

can you explain why make the figure four on the legs (on bottom), then disconnect the figure four (when sweeping), only to connect the figure four again (after roll)?

When he is on top, the foot is held into his hip by the force of gravity, and the fact that his movement is limited by the floor.

Saw a clip of a guy getting his neck broken like this. What is the best way to keep your partner (or yourself) safe during this move?

its a nice footlock but the counter heel hook is there all day on your right leg

Fair point for black belts and expert level nogi divisions. The more you can get on your side though the more you can hide that heel as well.

That side smash position with the knee in between the legs looks strong. What submissions can you go for there?

What if the opponent pushes you non-lasso leg through and just goes to side control?
@learn4ever_ Жыл бұрын
Be aware of that possibility and as soon as they do egg roll into omaplata, you can look up “lasso to omaplata” for good examples
@730prime59 ай бұрын
shouldn't be possible if your lasso is still in. if they do you are able to do the "lasso bait" sweep.

The Lovato/Ribeiro orbit, along with the Roger crowd, retain side control, retain mount, and enter mount at the highest level.

that's not traditional kesa gatame. kesa gatame is that position except your arm is under his head not his far arm. The hand under his head then drapes over and holds onto your knee. I believe the position you are in is kuzuri kesa gatame, modified kesa gatame. but that's a cool move, I've never heard of that. I'm looking for side control submissions. That's basically a nearside kimura (or at least a near side shoulder attack) done in an interesting way and that is exactly what I am looking for, thank you so much. Anyway I guess it has become common to call that position kesa gatame although in judo it is not.
