Wonderfully exciting and "straight to the point" music. My only comment, which is a minor (hah) thing overall, is maybe consider writing in it Eb minor instead of D#? Just slightly easier to read - no double accidentals.
@karlolewandowski3 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! The reason is that I want the performer to play with a sharp musical motif. Indeed, the two tonalities may be mathematically or scientifically identical. However, psychologically or sensuously they are different. Taking this difference into account, I use Eb minor when I want the piece to be more mysterious and elusive, and D# minor when I want the tune to be cool, although this is my feeling. In this case, I decided to use D# minor because of the latter image. This is how I ended up harassing the score-readers a bit lol.
@emusic42693 күн бұрын
@@karlolewandowski I actually totally agree and I would be a hypocrite if I said that Eb/D# are exactly the same, because I also don't perceive them that way. Fair point honestly.

You have a great ear for melody! I would perhaps suggest doing more to vary the melody the second time around though - I like the addition of the inner voice, but it seems a bit cluttered, so perhaps you could take the melody up an octave to alleviate that? That's just one idea. I really like the piece though!
@karlolewandowski5 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! I find your opinion very fascinating. In my opinion, I feel simply raising the melody an octave would create another acoustic problem. Therefore, I want to consider and brush up on other ways besides your idea!
@emusic42695 күн бұрын
@@karlolewandowski That's fair. What issue do you foresee? Perhaps, if you think the left and right hands would be too distant, consider fleshing out the inner voice harmonies even more.

An advice for the Pre-Final bar: The B natural note will be a B-sharp, because is the major 7th grade of the Harmonic C-sharp minor scale (the sensitive note). 🎼🎵🎶

What's the difference between this one and the original by bach?
@karlolewandowskiАй бұрын
@@liszt132 Thank you for watching!! Ch. F. G. Schwencke added one measure to Bach's original(added measure: 1:24-1:27). The added measures are written in such a way that the bass progresses chromatically while maintaining the original figure. This is the difference between Schwencke's version and original. As an aside, Ch. Gounod's Ave Maria was composed based on this version.

Nice piece, but if I'm not mistaken, a romance is written in 3/4 not 4/4- nice piece though. I'd change up the harmonies in some parts, specifically around the beginning, but it's a nice simple piece.

@@RetroRonin-nf1qg Thank you for watching! The knowledge that "romance is usually composed in 3/4" was lacking for me, so I will check and apply it in the future!
@jakrolАй бұрын
@@karlolewandowski That's because it's not really that true. Plenty of romances in duple meter. Both of Beethoven's violin romances are in duple meter. Amy Beach's violin romance is in duple meter. Max Bruch's viola and orchestra romance is in duple meter. Eine Kleine Nachtmusik's romance is in duple meter. The romance from Rosetti's C Major Oboe Concerto is in duple meter. The romance from Brahms' Op. 118 may start in 6/4, but its midsection is in duple meter. Another romance that starts in three but has a duple midsection is the Romance from Mozart's gran partita. So I really do not see where this 'romance is typically in 3/4' comes from.
@karlolewandowskiАй бұрын
@@jakrol Thank you for watching and comments! Actually, I agree with you. My perception is that a piece entitled Romance is not defined by its time signature, but by the content of the piece. So, to be honest, I still don't understand what is the basis for the "romance is typically in 3/4" thing...
