That’s just an excellent job of the operator keeping the saw in the optimal rpm by not letting it eat too much. I see a lot of guys with cut bog cut bog cut bog…that’s not a saw issue it’s an operator issue. I’ve got the same setup, just a pleasure to use.
@zarly592 ай бұрын
Thank you still could’ve been better. I’m not a professional, but I love chainsaws and been running them for 40+ years. The concept of keeping your RPMs up is something that everybody should learn to understand. We’ve all leaned on the saw a little too much at times I’ve definitely done it experimenting with the sauce to see what they can do. But I agree with you 100%.

Thanks for the video. How do you like the saw? I put a 461 oiler in mine for better output, but to be fair, I didn’t even run the saw with the stock oiler after my experiences with Stihl’s stingy oilers. In my opinion, the 400 is a good versatile saw.
@zarly592 ай бұрын
Hi, I put a high output oil pump in mine as well. Before the new pump it was only using not quite half of the oil tank. Now it uses 95 %. I’m very happy with that. Wasn’t sure about how it would handle the 32” inch oak- 25” bar but Imho it was very good, coming off a ms 362 there is no comparison, I love running this saw.
@Wmbhill2 ай бұрын
@@zarly59I cut oak pretty commonly and when I do, I use a 25” Tsumura and a full comp RS. Occasionally I’ll run a 28” in softer stuff. I use a 660 for anything bigger than that. I had to retune my 400 twice, it kept 4-stroking badly and didn’t seem to have any torque. It worked itself out though. My 362 was good but I like the 400 more. Good cutting

First actual use I've seen of the light 06 bar. Isnt it set up for .325 chain? So you switched your 3/8 sprocket for a 325? Wanting to try one on my ms310.
@zarly5910 ай бұрын
My 362 came with the 04 20” bar 3/8. I bought the 06 on eBay with a decent chain for $105. New. Was a bit nose heavy with the 06. Now using the es light 25” and is balanced perfectly.

if you care: here are the weights: standard 25" = 3 pounds 10 ounces, light 06 25" = 2 pounds 14.9 ounces, and light ES = 2 pounds 9.4 ounces. so even the 06 bar is a full pound lighter than the standard.

@@zarly59 very interesting, I appreciate your providing that. My ms 310 is my middle firewood saw,and being a farm and ranch it's kinda heavy for what it is.
