Only problem with testing continuity is you can have all the wires broken but one and still give you a good continuity signal

What will happen if you have a multimeter that does not sound but only gives number? What number should you be looking for then? Great video btw. Thanks

if there is no continuity it should show OL or open loop. if there is continuity you should see a small resistance value almost near zero.

What if both ends of the wire are yards apart and your multi meter doesnt have nearly enough wire to reach both ends of the wire you are checking for continuity?

Be sure that the power to the circuit is turned OFF. Next, tie the wire you would like to test into the ground or neutral wire. Next, head over to the other end of the wire and touch one of your leads on the multimeter to the ground if you tied it to the ground (or neutral if you tied it to the neutral), then touch your other lead to each wire until you verify which one is correct. Finally, mark that wire with electrical tape for verification purposes. Continue the process until you have verified each wire. I hope that helps!
