The Rival Eye Caper is a very interesting episode with regulars Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Ed Burns. It's a top showcasing for the up and coming star, Chad Everett, who made his debut in "Claudelle Inglish" [1961] starring Diane McBain in the title role. Chad's character jilts Claudelle, which results in her life spiraling out of control. In 77 Sunset Strip Chad plays a crack-athlete plus surfing pro who is on pins to turn rich overnight and so resorts to devious means. Every inch the movie star in looks and body, he's still impresses even in a negative role. Young Dawn Wells is the girl in the episode. If you don't mind me pointing this out to you, but the show's format was produced in 35 mm and, here, it is shown in widescreen. Making this change robs the episodes of clarity and definition, though close-ups are passable. Would it be possible for you to upload 'The Lovely American' [Season-4, Episode-33] starring Roger Smith and Lisa Gaye. I will be very grateful to view this episode.

The cover of the shot you have used for these episodes from 77 Sunset Strip has no connection to the TV series. In fact, it's a shot of Elizabeth Taylor and Fernando Lamas in a scene from an old MGM film titled 'The girl who had everything'.

Some great guest-stars in these episodes from 77 Sunset Strip that include: Phil Carey, Tony Dow, Gena Rowlands, Hampton Francer Jr. and the very dapper Ed Nelson. This is the way these actors looked in their hey-day. Truly unbeatable. Incidentally Hampton Francer Jr. was once briefly married to Sue Lyon [Lolita], another 60's actress.

Part of this episode invokes memory of old movie CASABLANCA. In the background is an instrumental version of a song played and sang by Sam (black singer/piana player in Casablanca). Also, the detective asks the pretty blonde the same questions the French police captain ask saloon keeper Rick (Bogart)--whether he absconded with the church funds, ran around with someone else's wife, or maybe killed a man

Amused how "Maybach" was mispronounced. So even way back then, most people didn’t know how to say it. The car brand is super profile today and driven by hedge fund moguls and Arab sheiks alike but in post war America it was generic and unnoticeable.

These WARNER BROTHERS TV SERIES made MILLIONS for CIGARETTE & LIQUOR COMPANYS as it seems EVERY OTHER SCENE features a SMOKE & DRINK !!!!! And you would need a SUPER MAGNIFYING GLASS to READ that ant sized WARNING on the side of those CIGARETTE PACKS !!!!! SAD ********

At 1:45:55 we see Ed "Kookie" Byrnes driving... a falcon? Kookie is way too cool a cat to be driving that. A Thunderbird is more his style.

I truly loved the segments from 77 Sunset Strip since they were episodic. Each episode had a distinct story-line with well-groomed men and lovely women. Warner Bros. saw to it that their players did make their best efforts to look like film stars. Just look at the latest in couture and hair-styles of the 60's that included bangs, the bouffant and the beehive, plus later it was the igloo. Even an ordinary looking female actor began to get appreciate glees in viewers eyes. While Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Roger Smith were the top faves, the other sideliners like Ed Byres and Robert Logan did receive a modicum of fame from this great series. Stars under contract were used all the time and they were interchangeable in the many shows Warner Bros produced. Besides 77 Sunset Strip, other shows that were greatly popular throughout the world were Hawaiian Eye, Surfside Six and Bourbon Street Beat, plus Westerns like Cheyenne, Bronco Lane, Black Saddle and on and on. Well-known guest stars can be spotted in each episode and, if you had a favorite from that period the fabulous 1960's, be sure you'll be able to spot them in this great show.

I wouldn't let this bozo investigate the insides of a dog's dish. He acts like he's 12! And to think when I was 12, I used think this program was the best thing since sliced cheese. Cool, Dad!

Thrilled to bits to find a few episodes from that 50's/60's top TV favorite '77 Sunset Strip' with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Roger Smith in stellar roles. I also spotted here that rare episode "Leap my lovely" with the gorgeous Diane McBain playing a Cleopatra part. I shall be more than grateful to see 'The Lovely American' from S-4 E-33; as also The Desert Spa Caper S-4, E-2, plus others like Old Cardsharps never die, Paper Chase and A bargain in tombs. Thanks in advance. I love surprises and this one is a Bonanza. Prints of the episodes are quite good too.
