Matteo is from a different universe, proves it over and over, and again and again, BUT the bassist and drummer are SO extremely good. The complexity of the music with just three musicians.. Not talking on this track alone, but all of it... man.. stunning.. absolutely speechless!!

Wish I knew what was on that pedal board. Does anyone know what kind of delay he uses?

I have a feeling the Trio will win instrumental album of the year very soon. If they are judged on Talent alone, they deserve to Win one of these years. Sometimes we get stuck in the past. The Trio is a breath of fresh air for everyone to appreciate what they are giving us now.

Havona is a peculiar thing. There's a letter wrong, a misstep, a page torn, but no! And when you learn to accept what you see and hear, it's only the beginning of appreciating some casserole but you hate casseroles and still you can't get it out of your dreams until it's time to cook and all you want to do is pour into this enigma, deliver these tablets down from the mountain, but the gas co shut your shit down and the watery mess looks and smells nothing like a 70's . Crock-Pot does wonders and Kevin Arnold is a butthead, guaranteed. TV got it wrong but The Report has it so right it's even oddly wrong. To fretless is to less fret and free more. Take a minute to give thanks for this video record. This beautiful space paired perfectly with such talented people to serve this wonderful meal. Yum! I say, yum. Noodles done al dente.

This is wonderful. I’m just discovering Tim Miller. What tune is this? I think I saw another vid of Andre Nieri playing this with a Brazilian band - Braguinha on bass and some sick drummer. Presumably it’s an old standard that they’re riffing on but I don’t know? Tim Miller’s soloing is next level. He’s so at ease. Manages to push the boundaries but still let the listener know where they are in the head. What good are chops if the listener doesn’t know where they are? I’ll definitely be diving deeper into his stuff. I’m a drummer and a bass player but I feel there’s a lot to be learned from the way this guy approaches the genre and how he leads a band. Gush over.

Correction, Andre Nieri is playing a similar tune but not the same (also in 12/8 or in 4 with a shuffle feel if you prefer that description). Very cool and worth checking out. I’ll post a link if I can figure it out. Andre Nieri also solos beautifully. Has obviously observed the bebop greats but isn’t defined by it.
