This is THE 👏🏽 BEST tutorial! After ignoring my machine for two years, I had to relearn the ins and outs. This step by step process was on point! Thank you! Thank you! A million thanks!

Thank you so much!!!!! This was so helpful and informative! I recently got a sewing machine and haven't had the chance to use it. I went to a sewing class at the library that said it was partially a machine teaching class - the instructions weren't there and left being told the machine needed fixing 🤦♀️. Turns out, I just needed better instructions. So thank you!

Thank you for this video. I really liked it. I have been sewing for a while but it’s also one a while if that makes sense and I have not used a singer. So this definitely helps. One question I have, is the little lever to the left of the needle that says push, what is that for? I either missed it in this video or it wasn’t in there. Thank you so much for your time making this.

Hello to you and your gifted photographer I have looked at several videos and mentally closed shop as they drawled on with hands covering the details you have to guess half of what was on display. However, in 1 minute I knew this was what I wanted to see and view. INFORMATION good illustrative photography and a running commentary that was simple and clearly explained. Well Done the pair of you Many Thanks: I am a male viewer looking to purchase a Singer HD and you have done it for me I am impressed. Thanks and thanks again for the best illustration on the U.Tube I was impressed when you took the Quick unpick and the fingers disappeared so we could see clearly Thanks, Malc P.S. when I as a young man I worked as a Singer salesman and sold the 99 and 185 201k now all superseded 60 years they were fun days. Hence back to Singer again

Bit late to the party, I found this tutorial after buying a 4423 Heavy Duty, and it looks identical to yours. Same amount of stitch options, everything. The model numbers might have to do with EU/UK/US specs. My mom taught me how to use sewing machines as a kid (my dad used to own a leatherware store, mainly handbags and belts). This is my first 'real' machine, I come from a few cheap off-brands failing over (sometimes short) time. Very helpful tutorial for this (and other) Singer model(s). I have a few tips to add if you don't mind; You should avoid turning the handwheel clockwise (away from you), it could desync the timing (bobbin and feed dogs). If you absolutely have to turn it clockwise, do so very slowly. Otherwise always turn the handwheel towards you (counterclockwise). It's a note in the manual for a reason.. ;) The bobbins recommended for this type are the clear ones so you can see how much thread is left on it when inside the machine. The white tab for the bobbin winder should be adjusted on your machine (rotate it slightly counterclockwise), it should push the bobbin mechanism to the left when the bobbin is about 85~90% full (soft thread can disrupt this). According to Singer, the blue stitches are predominantly for 'stretchy' applications, and the red setting for 'durable'. So black for normal fabrics, blue for stretchy fabrics (but also decoration) and red for strong (and even more decorative) stitches.
