That song was on Elvis’s first album if I remember correctly.

Stellar performance/cover of a great Rodney Crowell song (written/released when he was only 25 years old - nearly unbelievable. Albert Lee can do it all.

Just like the sun over the mountain tops, You know I’ll always come again, You know I love to spend my morning time, Like sunlight dancing on your skin. I’ve never gone so wrong as for telling lies to you What you’ve seen is what I’ve been You know me better than I can.

I simply loved this, even though it's not my main taste in music. The playing was so tight, and the whole song was well above C&W cliche level. Well, a bit above. But it sounded fresh.
@dennismccunney44623 жыл бұрын
Back when other British guitarists of his era were trying to play the blues, Albert loved country music. He listened to people like George Jones, Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard, and said "I like that! That's what I want to play!". And modulo a few detours during his career, like being asked by Eric Clapton to be a second guitarist on one of his tours, he has. This is a man who has spent 50 years honing his chops and playing what he loves about as well as it can be done. C&W isn't my main music either, but I'll listen happily to anything Albert does.

@@dennismccunney4462 All very true. Curiously, a younger friend of mine asked me yesterday to help him learn "Buckaroo", so there is hope that it won'tall get lost! (As long as he's not the ONLY one, of course.)
