Reminds me of that old Johnny Cash song where he took home parts of a Cadillac and built his own contraption.

I doubt anyone in this video has had what we in the west would regard as formal training. And yet they accomplish miracles in every video

Incredible teamwork and knowledge, using only basic tools. Necessity is the mother of invention, they say, and this is an excellent demonstration of that. Pele sometimes mock thee videos and come up with all sorts of facetious comments re safety gear, criticise the way it’s done etc. in fact, these people deserve praise for their resourcefulness. I’ve spent a lot of time in rural Pakistan, as a white westerner, and was received with kindness. I was always amazed by how they make things last, take on jobs which we in the west wouldn’t even consider and get it all done with basic tools. Big respects

I’ve spent a lot of time in rural Pakistan, as a white westerner. I was always welcomed and was impressed by how the people make things last, repair things that we would scrap and show such resourcefulness. In comments on these videos, a certain type of person mocks them for lack of safety gear, unfamiliar work practices, making do and showing ingenuity and patience. In fact, these people should be praised and admired.

Guaranteed to fail. The amount of stress on that drive is enormous. It will last a few days and if the machine gets into any situation that exceeds the normal demands it might not last that long. At least a few of the workers has shoes on and one guy actually had boots. Things are looking up.

They can but there are more honorable so they don't screw each other.

In the UK. labor rates are higher. It would be cheaper to buy a new block. The repairs they do in these lesser developed countries are because they do not have access to modern day supply chains.
