Hi Anand, I really liked viewing this video. The idea of playing a short section of a piece very, very slowly is something I have heard from others but for some reason, the way you described that clicked with me. Lately I have been serious about just not playing accordion any more because of the frustration of feeling that what I play and the amount of time on a particular song takes so long. But for some reason what you said has given me some interest in trying to look at that differently. Hope all is well with you and your family! 😊

Hello Guy, I totally understand how you can get frustrated when a lot of time is spent with no measurable progress. I've been there so many times. I've been taking some lessons with Bratislav Manasijevic recently (yes, I now have 3 teachers!). His approach - to breaking things down into smaller sections and really nailing that section down - makes a lot of sense. It is common sense, but unfortunately we don't put it in practice all the time. I really hope you'll find joy with the accordion and not face frustration.

Hi I have a question, in my 120 bass Accordeon I can play two songs who has the bass notes C#, G#, Cb, Fb in some parts of the song. Now I have a 72 bass Accordeon, how can I play these notes, my 72 bass Accordeon has a more limited range of Bass notes. How can I compensate these notes? exist a way to do this?
@BreezyBellows
@BreezyBellows 7 күн бұрын
Hello Edgar, the 72 bass accordion can play these bass notes. They are all located conveniently close. Here's where you can find the notes. C# - counter bass above A bass G# - counter bass above E bass (right next to C#) Cb - same as B bass (right next to E bass) Fb - same as E bass.

@@BreezyBellowsOh yes you are rigth, they are there, the only thing i cant play is the for example the C# major, C# minor, C# 7, in my song i need to play this sequence: C#, C#7, C#7
@BreezyBellows
@BreezyBellows 6 күн бұрын
You could play that using the Db. But unfortunately it is at the opposite end of the button layout. One alternative is to play the C# counter bass with finger 2 and with your pinky playthe Ab dim (last but one on the opposite end). This will give you the C#7 chord. But that is quite a stretch.

I see it. Don't worry about the bass buttons. Pick the correct keyboard length. For your height, you can comfortable play a 34 or 31 key keyboard. That can have 72 or 96 bases. Bass buttons don't add weight. I made a video about how to pick the right size instrument. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpO7mIFqh814g9k

No way. This never sounds like rock. The only thing what can replace a elektric guitar is a elektric guitar. But a accordion can rock too. Take on the right hand a musette sound with reverb. Make short beats in the chords E B and A. Between the chords improve at the E mjor scale. On the left hand take a elektrik bass sound, and play like a bass player. Good luck :-)

Thank you for the suggestion. Personally I like what I hear from the Bugari Evo guitar, bass and drum set up. I'm not that big a fan of the musette. I play that for some waltzes but not a lot.

That's getting very close indeed. You're emphasising the first note of each triplet, which is good. The emphasis can be by note length or note volume, and if anything you're emphasising too much with note length, but that's a slight thing, and you're on the right track. It's always worth remembering with this music that it was around long before classically trained musicians came along to notate it using European music theory. The dots take you some of the way, but they can't convey it all, and listening to other players is an essential part of it.

Yep, it's an improvement, but your tempo makes it more of a slow march. Have a listen to these renditions. Don't worry if the notes each player plays differ a little from the dots - it's folk music, and that's the usual way of things. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5rCemNtnKeEhs0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3fKlH55a6ijkJY

I can only get 32 bass around where I am but I can order a 48 or 60 bass overseas. I understand there'a not much weight difference between 32 and 48 bass, is 60 bass much larger and heavier?
@BreezyBellows
@BreezyBellows Ай бұрын
Do you stand or sit when you play? If you don't have any pre-existing health conditions, weight should be an issue to sit down and play. It really depends on your expectations. Compared to 48 bass, the 32 bass will miss the diminished chords and the counter bass row. The main difference is being able to do some bass melody lines. If that matters for you, 32 bass might be more limiting than 48 bass.
@wckoek
@wckoek Ай бұрын
@@BreezyBellows I hope I can play standing with it. I am under 160cm and 50kg, the layout looks like 32 keys can fit 80-90% of what I play but certainly with diminished chord it'll sound better in minor keys. Anyway, would you find 60 bass a lot larger and heavier than 48 bass?
@BreezyBellows

I never stand and play. So I can't really answer that. There are stroller accordions with 72 basses. But I've never been a stroller.

Around me I can only find a 24 bass Selmer and a 32 bass China made Baile. 7th chord isn't critical for me though, is 24 bass still considered too small or if the Chinese Baile is still a good instrument?
@BreezyBellows
@BreezyBellows Ай бұрын
It really depends on what you want. It is smaller and more limiting than a 48, 72 or 120 basses. Used Italian accordions will be better quality than Chinese made accordions.
@wckoek
@wckoek Ай бұрын
@@BreezyBellows Yeah, I think I might go for the 32 bass for the first instrument since I planned it as a side instruments anyway. On 48 bass, between 8x6 vs 12x4, which one do you find is more useful? I can find both 48 and 60 bass within my budget if I were to buy online sight unseen.
@BreezyBellows
@BreezyBellows 5 күн бұрын
It depends. I haven't played 48 bass that much. For the short time I played it, I found the number of bass notes very limiting. So, if I had to choose been 8x6 and 12x4, I'd go for more notes (12x4)

I started on the piano accordion when I was 39, I reached a reasonable standard but then saw a 5 row c system when I was 67, I thought I think I’ll try this, I couldn’t believe how quickly I was able to play things which I found difficult on the piano accordion. The ability to transpose into different keys was a big advantage to me. I didn’t have to learn different fingering for different keys. I just move my hand to a different button and play the same finger pattern. I hardly ever play the piano accordion now.
