Fun part is dealing with larvae do those trap their larvae too? What you need try is get a bowl squeeze few drops Dawn then add apple cider vinegar drop 2 tablespoons of sugar into bowl add water Set this bowl trap by your oven turn light in low or use a candle 🕯️ they’ll dive in to it you’ll also see other insects as well

My 13 year old gal was rescued from a puppy mill at 6 years old. The signs of DM started showing a year ago. I often wonder how many of her puppies she passed that on to. She’s my angel and I’m going to miss her.

I know that park. My GS has walked the same area CO park. He looks just like yours. Unfortunately, mine started doing this about 6 months ago. As of yesterday, he can't use one of his hind legs. How fast did it progress until you had to make that decision?

You have to look in your cabinets. If you have shelves that you can move up and down. You have to check every single hole. You will find them halfway developed in the larva stage.(they kind of look like a maggot.) and when they are just about ready to fly. You’ve got to find the source in order to stop them. Checking your cabinets is the first thing I would do the holes where you have movable shelving.

You have to squeeze gently but firmly. They are Mango worms and need to be squeezed out. Alot in toes, tail. Top on back. Squeeze just those bumps. You will be surprised. Don't scrape. Squeeze and tweezers will just pull them out. Get them out asap.

Is this what "Tony" the GSD at The Asher House has developed lately? He hops in the rear end. Lee Asher has all 30 of his rescues on CBD oil. Has anyone used it to help? Or that Biko strap system to pull the feet straight? Looks like just elastic bands attached to the hocks, then to a harness ring between the shoulders?
@HRTsAFyre2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Biko bands help temporarily until the disease progresses and they are no longer able to use their legs at all any longer. They eventually become completely flaccid and must be put in stirrups while using a wheelchair. There is no cure for DM, you can slow down the progression with exercise and Dr. Clemmons suggested supplements and antioxidants. It eventually progresses forward and affects the front legs causing weakness and paralysis, then it affects their core and internal organs. They lose their bark and begin to sound like a seal and have trouble swallowing once the laryngeal and esophageal paralysis sets in. The digestive tract slows down and they have trouble breathing. Multiple organ failure is where it ends. Of course we ultimately know when time is right and help them cross over before then. They can live for several years quite happily with a dedicated owners assistance. There us no pain associated with DM because it's paralyzing. CBD works for pain associated with other issues that mimic DM but have different outcomes and are very painful or uncomfortable for the dogs. Like hip dysplasia or IVDD, or spondylitis, arthritis or a tumor in the spine, etc. This disease that Dux had, Degenerative Myelopathy is like ALS or PPMS, there is no pain associated with it and as long as you monitor your dogs health and quality of life they can do very well with the bands, swim therapy, the wheelchairs the Help em Up harness. Etc.

Thank you. She does that sneeze thing when she gets excited. Isn't she lovely? I know she looks bad but she looks so much better than she did 6 months ago. She had fuzzy pajamas before and just quills sticking out on her wings and tail. I felt so sad for her and wasn't looking to get another bird, but I felt I had to try to help her and give her a better life. I had to buy her from the person who had her last. He had way too many birds to give her the time and attention that she deserves. She's improved in strength and doesn't fall like she used to. Now she's a little monkey and hangs upside down in her aviary her grip is very strong now and her feet look better. She makes nice wind with her wings too. I just love her to death.
