If the r134a is replaced with r1234yf, then don't expect to be cool. Cars that run r1234yf from the factory have pipe-within-a-pipe to boost cooling. Don't mention the flammability and the toxic fumes when it burns. I think its a total crock. Supposedly because of the GWP of r134a.
@coldfinger459sub014 сағат бұрын
@@rmariu true some cars who have a little less cooling. Some cars will be the same.. because some cars were offered with both gases, depending on what country the car was shipped to with the same components. Some 134 cars they were experimenting with the I HX (tube in Tube) internal heat exchanger for sub cooling. It is not flammable like propane or butane. That’s a bunch of BS. . You have to constantly keep an extremely hot ignition source constantly on the flowing gas to keep it burning. 🔥 the instant you take away the ignition source it’s snuffs itself out and no longer burns. Our grandmother’s hairspray Acquanette was much more flammable. If you were one of those kids who used to take it out in the backyard with a lighter and make a flamethrower out of it.. and since we’re not going around burning it, we don’t have to worry about toxicity from the burnt refrigerant just like 134 is toxic when you burn it 410 is toxic when you burn it 22 is toxic when you burn it extremely toxic so is 12 extremely deadly toxic when you burn it. They lied to us in exaggerated on its danger about flammability . They lied to us and said you were only can have special evaporators that were built more robust in case YF refrigerant leaked into the passenger compartment and exploded.. And the sheep 🐑 fell for it and believed it Then they can charge us more money for all the equipment because it had to be made slightly explosion and ignition proof. Then they can charge more for shipping and handling in storage and put different fees and permits on the item that the consumer has to pay for. The people are too blind too stupid, and naïve to understand that . And now here we are the same people who told us all those lies are now behind the movement of converting the old 134 vehicle vehicles over to YF refrigerant with evaporators that are not robust. 😂🤣 In fact for us in the business who make our living have never seen more evaporator leaks in our entire lives than when they introduced YF refrigerant into vehicles evaporators have became one of our number one money generators for leaks because of YF refrigerant, and the lies that they told us.
@rmariu3 сағат бұрын
@ I agree that the flammability concern is at the front of the car. Where the gas potentially sprays over a glowing exhaust manifold. I also agree that there are other things more flammable (Like the gasoline at the back of the car). I am utterly pessimistic. It seems as if the patent has expired on 134a, so lets make something that is meh (1234yf). Its the consumer that pays, either in cash or both in cash and then a car that blows cool but not cold. I have a 2013 Honda Fit (R134a). It holds 0.5kg of gas and to get it refilled, it cost about $200USD. When it goes crazy, I won't be buying the 1234yf gas. (Hint:🔥🔥🔥)
@coldfinger459sub03 сағат бұрын
@ there is no glowing hot, red exhaust manifold no such thing. Only when somebody purposely intentionally over exaggerates, extreme driving conditions, holding the throttle open under a load and then purposely places the refrigerant pipe right next to the hot turbo exhaust and releases the refrigerant right into glowing red, hot metal where the refrigerant oil itself is more flammable than the refrigerant that is spraying out at the same time. Passenger Cars exhaust, or never glowing red . And I have made videos because I have retrofitted vehicles over 134 into two vehicles with YF refrigerant that works really good And I have done a video where I have put YF refrigerant into a 134 vehicle and it works really good . Especially in mild climates there’s no difference.. The only one who will suffer a little bit. Are the few vehicles in the very first years older much older 134 vehicles that still did not have the high performance high efficiency, evaporator and condenser designs they will suffer in desert climates watch the majority of the United States is not located in the desert..

But they’re going to phase out 134 refrigerant. In the EU will probably phase out 134 refrigerant before the United States. But in the United States production has already been cut and will be cut again drastically by 2027 or 2030. I can’t remember the dates there’s gonna be a drastic elimination of the supply of 134.. One of the new refrigerants R 444 a is only 20% cheaper than YF refrigerant that is not worth it. Especially after you account for the cost of the retrofit fittings that you will have to purchase and put on the vehicle plus the addition of probably what is going to be a very expensive additive package oil per ounce or milliliter.

@ like R 22 in residential. The equipment is so old most of it has been replaced.. Or you just spend several hundred dollars on refrigerant if it needs to be repaired for a leak. Our 12 vehicles if you have an old vehicle that takes 3 pounds of 12 refrigerant. From me that will be $450 in refrigerant.. and they have a 30 year or 40+ year-old vehicle that still has old hoses so that means they need a recharge in another one or two years. Or they could fill it up with 134. for $82 in refrigerant. or pay to have all the refrigerant hoses replaced. This will depend if the customer lives in an extremely hot environment or extremely mild even environment like San Francisco. And whether the customer lives in the place where labor rates are cheap under $100 an hour Here in San Francisco were usually over $250 an hour. So it all depends on the economics and the extreme or mild physical environment of which one will be the better choice..

You’re talking about one refrigerant that electric car companies are specifically looking at that is for better use on electric vehicles for less energy usage. I can see where they’re useful actually or places who have that problem with ants that continuously go up into the contractors.. a repeated problem then this would be the way to go. You can actually build one of these yourself. It is absolutely not rocket science at all.. it’s just a giant MOSFET . And you can actually order one and pick one with a higher more reliable heat rating and amperage rating.. and then you could heat sync it with a aluminum heat sink that is going through the sheet metal you mounted on with a heat sink on the other side into the airflow. That is how they’re actually supposed to be used..
