This made no sense . What did they use to make nails? Or straight planks of timber. They had basically nothing. They should have ended up as hunter gatherers in a generation or two 😂

Fun fact: at 0:03 - 0:05 and 0:34 - 0:36 it's the actual lyrics of the intro theme. Here's the full version: Stargate, It's great big world With a great big swirl And you step inside to another world We're talking Stargate, It's a crazy trip, You can go quite far, And you don't need a car or even a ship There's Colonel O'Neill And Carter, And Daniel, And Teal'c Look out for that G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-Goa'uld Where I found it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWmkpn6VaNxgaNk

There are four women who have made allegations of sexual misconduct against Tyson. Neil's comment about his last paper being in the 80s and 90s was super ironic. Neil himself has published a total of five 1st author papers, all from the 80s and 90s. And none of Neil's papers contained any new ideas. His doctoral dissertation was grunt work for R. Michael Rich, measuring metallicity of stars in the galactic bulge. And Rich hired students to help Neil. At University of Texas they dissolved Neil's doctoral committee, essentially flunking him. His advisors at U.T. correctly informed him he had no aptitude for astrophysics. As a research scientist Neil is an absolute joke. I don't think the writes of Stargate knew this.

Then the Tok'ra revealed their sinister plans to take over. All that was needed was the downfall of the system lords. First target, make sg1 their hosts, then all other sg teams. Then make Hammond their host as well. Don't trust the Tok'ra. Resistance !!!

This was honestly such a great way at showing how the Atlantis expedition could last for so long against the Wraith. Yes the Atlantis expedition had some technological advances over the Wraith (the Asgard tech and Ancient tech they managed to reverse engineer), but far and away the biggest advantage they had over the Wraith on a big picture scale was that the Wraith mistrusted each other almost as much as they mistrusted Atlantis. And with the Wraith awakened well before their "feeding grounds" had had a chance to fully replenish, and the Wraith spent more time fighting each other over territory than they actually spent fighting humans. To me "Humanity is surviving on a knife's edge by delicately playing the enemy against each other" is a much more believable scenario than "Humanity wins because it's inherently awesome!" that a lot of lesser sci-fi series go for. Mind you, Shephard is pretty awesome for thinking on the fly how to pit Wraith against each other, but the fact that the Wraith instantly started attacking each other without clearing up what was going on was indictive of just how fatal the Wraith's mistrust of each other was and how their aggression could be used to humanity's advantage

Every series of Star Trek would have one of these "one-off" episodes and they ended up being great. Its good that Stargate did the same thing here. THis ended up being a great episode.

Loved the original MacGyver series. That and RDA's role in Star Gate SG1 were great roles. In between, he was in a short-lived series with Delancy, who played Q in Star Trek.

Sam was the star of SG, she was always saving the men when they screwed up. Amanda should have had the lead in Seasons 9 and 10, instead of Ben. It was Amanda's show for 8 years, when RDA left she should have got top billing. They brought in Ben for only 2 seasons and he gets the lead, not fair to Amanda.

All the supposed representative contributors & American army, but no British army? No Gurkhas? No SAS? I always found this unrealistic & I don't care how resilient the wraith were supposed to be, no organic being recovers from being torn to sheds by machine gun fire, or getting his head blown off. So silly, childish & unrealistic.
