Away ahead of its time. Has to be the best piece of electronic music ever to be produced. Donna Summer was just brilliant, gone too soon.

Giorgio Moroder is at least 90% of this song. Anyone could have sung any disparate vocal melody on top of that bass hook (and all the other electronic bass stuff and percussion that's going on) and it would still be a groundbreaking song. Summer was of course a really good choice, similar to how Agneta and Annifrid completed Benny Andersson perfectly.

Ironically, the best electronic music was being produced within the era in which they weren't able to produce ALL sounds. And weirdly enough, they can't reproduce the sounds they could produce in that era with the timbre they had, today. It's weird, why would that be?! There's also something wrong with the degree of creativity nowadays, and wait until AI starts producing tons upon tons of music. Disaster for us humans ... or not. Imagine losing imagination, but being completely oblivion about it, and about the mechanism hindering that process?!

The Popcorn Song was recorded back in the 60s. Mind-blowing technology for the period.

I'd heard the polar bear thing before but if you stop to think about it, it is actually very interesting - it means that either polar bears are sufficiently self-aware to know about the visibility of their nose (someone needs to do a mirror test in a zoo somewhere) or the nose covering behaviour has evolved and polar bears must just get a subconscious urge to cover their noses when hunting :-)

Got clued to Giorgio through GTA, but am now well and truly down the 70s rabbit hole. "Disco" does not even begin to give this era justice. So much to explore and discover
