I'm trying to figure out if this is a plug and play. I downloaded the firmware update, but I work in a clean room and can't download the software at my desk. I tried it at my work station before the firmware update and it didn't work. Do you have to have the software on your computer or phone for them to work?

Is the headset mic being used in this video or only for looks? I hope that's not the sound being captured by the Panacast 50. I personally don't recommend this new version of Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC. They have sidetone (you can hear yourself when speaking) - it has weird electro-sound and there is no option to turn it off. There is only low / medium / high settings. Even on low it is pretty loud and annoying. I have headaches because of it and it is really irritating me. Older version, maybe only because of older firmware have this sidetone off or not available, but there is no available downgrade of the firmware. Hopefully they will implement a possibility to turn it off otherwise it is not usable for calls.

I bought one of these things which cost over 80 Euro. During the first 4 - 6 months it failed, failure characteristics were: Loss of bluetooth connection, difficulty in reconnecting, tunnel voice. reverberation and voice loss during conversations. Still under warranty I sent it to The Nederland for repair. They replaced it with a reconditioned one..........YES a SECOND HAND ONE. This also failed within the first week with the same issues. Now, 5 days later they are asking what the failure characteristics were...........RIDICULOUS Perhaps they should mention in their warranty papers that if the device fails it will be replaced with a SECOND HAND ONE???

Could this be used as a Smart TV?
