Crushed up glass aka “glass beads” makes sure the shaft is in the Center of the hozel. Tipping a shaft will also make it stiffer lowering ball flight even with a 10.5 Deg loft.

Just a measly $598 on Skillest for a personal lesson. With the scores I'd have to shoot to win enough club competitions to make that back I'd probably win Q-School for the DPWT. All that to say, this is really interesting stuff. Just listened to his NLU interview and that had to be the quickest 90min podcast I ever listened to. Can't wait to get out work on some chipping.

You absolutely do not need to hit the ball first to chip well if you use the bounce. That’s the entire reason bounce exists. You can also have shaft lean and low point beyond the ball while being shallow. Joseph speaks like his way is the only way. Fact of the matter is the margin for error when you’re steep is tiny. It will produce great shots if done correctly, but it’s a bigger “if” than if you are shallow and use the bounce.

You’re arguing with math, I understand the skepticism but high spin loft is necessary to be a great chipper and you can’t have high spin loft if you don’t have a steep AOA

For me personally, trying to nip the ball with a shallow angle of attack is a bigger “If”. But thats just me I guess.

@ I guess steve stricker isn't one of the best chippers of all time then. Guess Jason Day and Keith Mitchell suck too. Stop drinking the Mayo Kool Aid. You absolutely can be a world class chipper and not be super steep.

@ then you aren't doing it correctly. Also being shallow literally makes it so even if you don't nip it you can hit a very good shot. Just youtube keith mitchell or steve stricker chipping.

@ LIke I said.... For me, it does not work as consistent as he sells it. Also...try to do that shallow move on a hard-pan lie in a muni...Skull city. Conversely, this method works better in different lies.

Does this mean that the 440 vs 430 has: 1) lighter head weight 2) longer alta stock length? I do wish also that there were lower lofted options to get down to 6 degrees - especially with the higher launch characteristics of the 440.

Thanks for reaching out. The stock head weight of the G440 MAX is 203 grams vs. 206 grams for the G430 MAX. The stock length for G440 drivers is 46" vs. 45.75" for G430. Great to watch golf of such a high standard. I find it amazing how well Juan can play on one leg, his combination of balance, direction and power is great to witness. A fine ambassador for the game of golf.

Could you just crank a 3wood down or a 5wood up to desired loft?? I'm a bit confused, shaft literally gonna make no difference with loft, why waiting years? I've literally changed all my ping fairways out for Cleveland xl halo's their so much better, than my pings were, and so much more versatile from different lies and also off tee box
