Again, as a family we have been blessed to hear this man preach the Word. We need men like him to fill pulpits in so many places, where there is such a want of good teaching.

The silences and waiting are some of the hardest periods in any believers life because it feels like God is not there, or He has abandoned you. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me” is evidence of that particular trial by fire. Thank you for this message.

These four presentations are a very useful companion to the book 'True to the Faith.' As well as having the word of God to read, David Gooding shows the way it is to be interpreted. No texts quoted out of context, just the analysis of the flow of thought presented in the text, Very grateful for the sharing of these messages.

I like how Gooding does not primarily answer the question of why we should believe the Bible as merely a head issue, regarding facts and historical support, but rather, for what really is a heart issue - how the Bible alone provides us a real answer for our sins, namely, the centrality of Jesus as our only hope as sinners.

Vanakkam! According to the Bible, Eve disobeyed the Creator. When the Creator is so powerful. Why did he create someone who disobey him. Why Eve?why not Adam? Moreover , why should the Creator allow Eve to persuade Adam to disobey. Why didn't he give the rational thinkinking for Adam and Eve.? Why did he created the saviour in the form of Man ( Jesus) why not in the form of a woman?

What ever is the holiness of God? And which of the old testaments gods are we talking about? El was maybe the first theYahew and then God?. All with different personalities.
@MyrtlefieldHouse8 ай бұрын
Your first question: 'There is no denying that to many people the very thought of God is unwelcome and any reminder of his holiness a threat. God to them is some grim, almighty tyrant determined to restrict man’s freedom and to deny him life’s full-blooded pleasures. So they tell themselves that the idea of God is a hangover from man’s pre-scientific days, and they try to banish him from their minds (but never with complete success).' (from Ch.2 - Holiness - in David Gooding/John Lennox's book Key Bible Concepts - You can read it here for free: www.myrtlefieldhouse.com/online-books/key-bible-concepts)
@MyrtlefieldHouse8 ай бұрын
Your second question: There's just the one. Lots of dimensions to his personality though. And different names for the same God help to get that across. El = God in Hebrew. Yahweh is his name as the God who faithfully keeps the promises he makes - the loyal one full of steadfast love. Father, Saviour, friend, master, and lots of other names and titles that show different sides of who he is. Maybe if human need was one dimensional, he wouldn't have bothered revealing to us more than one dimension of his character.

Satan said to Eve "you shall be like God". He's still selling the same lie and men like Yuval Noah Harari have bought it again. Only he and his 'elite' friends will be gods and we 'useless people' as he calls us, will get drugs and video games to keep us docile. Maranatha.
