Thank you for this excellent video👍❤. I have a question: I understand that for large dataset which Table.Buffer is necessary. For small data set such as a few hundred rows, will I get the wrong result if I do not buffer the table before removing duplicates? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Very interesting discussion on the use of the Table. Buffer command. I have seen some strange behavior that Table.Buffer may solve. Thanks for the excellent work.

Do you have a video that shows how to use power query in order to sort data by financial year, like Oct-Sep? So it knows Oct is Q1.

Nice info. Your mic picks up a lot of extraneous, distracting, needless sounds, e.g., keyboard buttons, keyboard/table pounding, mouse clicks, and saliva sounds.

This is brilliant. Thank you. What if I'm trying to get clusters of the lead addresses, i.e., grouping addresses that are close to each other.

I found your channel and learning Power Query now on my own. As I go through the guide of combining data from multiple sources, how will that impact my dataset if my source adds additional columns down the road?
@excel4urparents242
@excel4urparents242 Ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the comment. If you add a new column to any of your data sources, it should come through upon refreshing. Some exceptions/watchouts to this are if you have your data grouped before appending or if you unpivoted your data (you still can unpivot your data before appending tables and have a column flow through. You just have to use the "unpivot other columns" function). If the new column is only on some of your data sources, it will return a null value for the value in any table that doesn't have that column but will flow through for others.

I will have do this immediately. I have multiple project BOMs with outsourced parts that also have cost adjustments (discounts, markups, etc) I use Power Query to handle the appends/ merges and adjustments. I should do this to print the pdfs

Great , but I can't convert 02/2024 format as a sample to date
@excel4urparents242
@excel4urparents242 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment! When I tested this, I found that selecting the Data Type as Date defaulted the date to the first of the month. After that, you can proceed to parse out the month and year using the Add Columns feature. Alternatively, in the Power Query editor under the Home tab, you can split the column by delimiter "/" to create separate year and month columns. It would be the month number at this point, but you can write a conditional-if column to get it to month names or create a new Customer column using the date syntax #date(year, month, day) to put it back into a date.

I think any "data analysis" tools have become the core of many functions in most medium and large sized companies. The typical Excel even with advanced formulas techniques (which are still usable) is no longer the only valuable skills for many professions. I've been using Excel with complex formulas in my work for years, but learning Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, and Data Analysis in ChatGPT 4.0, just to cite some examples, have become a priority. if it wasn't for tutorials like yours and others in KZbin I wouldn't be able to achieve my renewed professional goals. The least I can express in this reply is my most sincere gratitude. You have a natural talent for teaching and coaching. It shows in your videos. Thank you!!@@excel4urparents242

@excel4urparents242
@excel4urparents242 4 ай бұрын
Hi @lorismetro7729 I'm glad you enjoyed the video! A lead is a sales term meaning a potential customer or prospect who has expressed interest in a product or service. I know there are many different uses for distance calculations, I come from a sales analytics background, so I put it in this context. Thank you for mentioning it, I will try and use more generic terms in the future!
