What was the ammo and was the ammo the exact same in both guns for this comparison? I know to get max performance out of the Erebus we really need to run hand loads with slower burning powders. Great video man.

I run the nemesis and primarily shoot steel challenge, it’s also a really fun gun for shooting at the range. Doubles are quicker than what I can manage with other guns. And it has many rounds through it yet feels brand new. I definitely admit that I’m attracted to the idea of an Apollo and I do think it would point and transition very nicely.

micropores! similar to a parkerized phosphate coating.. it soaks up the oil to create the P&O protection. Parkerizing is easier to do less high tech just a chemical bath of phosphoric acid and has the GI look of WW2. I love all the gun finishes and technology. color case hardening is beautiful. so is a blue on a mirror polished surface. people who say don't oil a Glock slide are just wrong. Tenifer was the original Glock finish a nitrocarburizing process. DLC is a very cool high tech finish. experts needed. On a side note I'm not sure you can parkerize stainless steels as they are resistant to reactions.

I think the problem is that you're a gunsmith so maybe you get a lot of people who use grease incorrectly and it's leading you to believe that is the same experience as everyone. I think it is easy to over apply grease but most systems like 1911s will push the excess out but in some cases if you let a lot of it build up into the dust cover area and such, you can create a rather sluggish system. I've used grease on everything for the past 3 decades and always find it worked better than oil. Just a small dab on all the proper friction points and it'll work like a charm.

How does the color of the new silver pvd finish compare to the color of the silver thumb safeties and thumb rest slide stops?

You mentioned that the Titan tracks different than an Athena and you seemed to infer it was because of the extra length. Can you elaborate on this a bit more and educate me please? Thank you.

I can’t fit 17 rounds in your 126mm mags for the life of me. What do I need to do. I’ve let it sit completely full for 2 weeks and it’s not getting any easier to load. My staccato mags work perfectly.

@jedeckert9525Ай бұрын
Nothing, atlas is trying to sell you theirs.
@itgearheadАй бұрын
the checkmate springs are too weak and the second round will follow out. when you drop a loaded mag, with the first round chambered, the second round will fall out of the magwell. I recommend the +18 % Atlas springs. worth it!
@Person_of_InterestАй бұрын
Don’t those Staccato magazines cost like bucoup dollares? And the springs need to be replaced? And the base pads need to be replaced? Kidding aside, I really do appreciate videos like this that explain it all, but sheez-OH crikey that’s pricey.
@itgearheadАй бұрын
if you're looking for less expensive, the Tisas DS mags are made by Checkmate. they do have a polymer baseplate and the same weak springs. the Atlas +18% springs improve the mags significantly

The Black process we use is slightly more robust than the Sliver. Both work very well.

I have an erebus in my shopping cart on the website and I’m just trying to find one thing wrong with it. It worries me that no one is saying anything negative about it. Nothing is so perfect that it doesn’t have something wrong with it and I just want to know what it is. I chose it over the sand viper seeing as there’s an overwhelming number of people that say it’s better than the sand viper. It’s price is built on nothing but quality instead of raising the price because it’s a John wick gun. That alone shows that the viper is just a little bit less in overall quality than the Erebus. Does anyone have one and have something about it that they don’t like?

Can you swap a non ported barrel in an Apollo to run in LO and have the best of both worlds?
@mitchelperkins6723Ай бұрын
As the armorer who trained me 36 years ago said of 1911 fitment. "Right fit, not tight fit. Its all about the slide and barrel returning to the exact same place in battery. A rimy amount of "Wiggle" between the drame and slide is ok, not excessive, but some. As long as solid lokup is acheived , the gun will be mechanically accurate.
