@@vbond0071 Yes, the projector has its own timer. If you don't press the timer button, the projector will run until you turn the projector switch off. If you press the timer button, you can set it, 15', 30' or max 1 hour.

How did you make the scenic disc? Can you make a video? Or send a photo?

@octavian4d 2 ай бұрын
@@psion1006 I went to the Miller Engineering Star Discs website and purchased the Forest Scenic Disc for my Sega Homestar Flux projector and drew its outline on paper. Then I drew a circle like in the Forest disc. Inside the circle I drew the inner ISS cupola and darkened it with a permanent marker. After that, with a blade I cut the windows so that the light could pass through projecting the Earth, Andromeda or nebula disks. At the end, I laminated the paper and cut out the scenic disc with scissors. The sold out ISS View disc withe the Cupola wouldn't work with my Sega Homestar

@@psion1006 The ISS View Disc is sold out, otherwise I would have bought it. There are two discs, the scenic disc is static and the main disc above it moves. The cupola scenic disc for Sega Homestar Projector must be shaped like a Forest Scenic Disc microstru.com/collections/homestar-flux-pro-classic-disc-replacements/products/forest-scenic-disc-1 or it will not fit in the projector tray. I tried to make a scenic disc like the one posted on the Miller Engineering site with the ISS cupola but it didn't work in the Sega Homestar projector tray microstru.com/collections/homestar-flux-pro-classic-disc-replacements/products/iss-view-disc-1?variant=39303637106839 Maybe the Cupola picture posted belongs to their projector DS1 Home Planetarium, and it is not compatible with Sega Homestar projector (the scenic and the main disc are not compatible). @@octavian4d I have transparent plastic discs the same thickness as the Scenic Discs. Normal for bite guards. I'm going to try to make a Scenic Disc with them. I have a few Dark Skys Discs and will buy more. They are the prettiest. I like the Orion Belt Disc. I just need an idea for the Scenic motif.😁 There are 8 Astrial Scenic Discs. I think they fit on the Miller Engineering Discs too. It would also be possible to use them as a base. I put the main disc in first and then the Scenic Disk on top. In the Flux. I'll have to try the other way around. I'll try it with the DS Discs.

I have the Sega Homestar Flux Projector (about $259). Miller Engineering makes discs for the Homestar and also for their own DS-1 Home Planetarium Projector (about $600) but the discs are NOT interchangeable, the DS1 has the slightly larger discs and they won't fit the Homestar. The discs are $39.95 each and ship about $10. The projectors do not have sounds, use your smartphone etc, I added my music in the video. This link is for the Homestar projector discs, and Mars disc is among them microstru.com/collections/homestar-flux-pro-classic-disc-replacements

There are two ways the dust speck appear on the disc projection on the ceiling, from the projector itself, in my case Homestar Flux lens, or from the dust speck on the disc. If dust speck is on the disc, you can use a soft fiber cloth and some alcohol to clean and wipe the discs. I talked to Miller Engineering customer support and they said it is safe to clean the discs, it will not damage or wash out the image printed on them in any way.

Not sure, my ceiling is flat. As long as the ceiling is not painted in dark colors, I think the texture of the ceiling doesn't matter. My projector can rotate left or right asymmetrically (new stuff appears from the left and disappears from the right, or vice versa, but most of the time I keep the switch off, so the ceiling texture probably wouldn't matter if the switch is off. Other people have chandeliers on the ceiling and the projection looked cool in their youtube videos.

I am a customer like you, nothing more. I bought my Sega Homestar Flux last year, and when I didn’t use it I kept it inside its white box. I am not sure what to tell you. I know that you can clean and wipe the Miller Engineering discs with a soft fiber cloth and alcohol. You won't damage or scratch the discs. Maybe soupy water and cloth would clean the device. The best thing is to ask the customer service www.segatoys.space/en/public/flux.html On the bottom under Company, click Contact, and send your message, They probably will email you back with the right advice.

If you have a different projector you must be sure the discs are compatible with your projector. My projector does not have sound capabilities, I use a different source, smartphone with headphones. The disc can rotate to different zones, on/off, also shows falling stars on/off. There is a disc with the curvature of the Earth seen from ISS cupola. There are discs with Triangulum Galaxy, Andromeda, JWST Deep Field with galaxies from early universe closer to the Big Bang. Carina Nebula, Flame Nebula with Horsehead, Orion, Jupiter seen from one of its planets, on Mars etc
