Hello, we are working on a research project in the field of sprayed concrete. Some of your videos, including this one, could help us to develop computer vision algorithms. If you are interested, we would be more than happy to tell you more about it. Would you be willing to get in touch and discuss whether and under what terms we could use your videos? If so, what would be the best way to reach you?

Thanks so much for the explanation of the process - economy of motion and all the other tips. However what I appreciate the most is your candor and philosophical approach to construction. May I commend you for adding value to the industry through the initiative you have taken by producing videos explaining the process. Would it be possible for you to 'mic and vid up' during a live construction and perhaps explain in 'real time' some of the thought processes behind the actions taken? Thanks again - wishing you and the team at DC Shotcrete a prosperous & peaceful 2024.

Thankyou so much @Sixsparrows for your encouraging comments honestly means a lot. Yes absolutely trying to figure out the best way to Mic up without destroying equipment when I'm spraying. Any equipment suggestions are welcome.

Why’d you only go half way on the walls and in Australia we spray off our shoulder
@dcshotcrete Жыл бұрын
Great question Logan, I had posted a FB live explaining my work flow prior to job commencement , in short , the walls on the right side and deep end were over 600mm thick , naturally you spray halfway, let it firm up then cap out. {In Australia we spray off shoulder} fortunately I've been trained in both with my time in Arizona and Sydney. Refer my profile picture , on occasion Ive been known to spray with two delivery lines on one shoulder. Thank you for your comment mate see you on FB Shotcrete inc.

Why did he leave a cove instead of straight all the way down on the last step never seen that
@dcshotcrete2 жыл бұрын
Angel, the straight all the way down on the last step is a design feature that went out of style in the 90's A cove ( Radius ) on the last steps makes pool cleaning easier , no sharp edges to accumulate dirt and if every edge inside the pool in round , why have a square edge , it looks out of place.
@AngelTorres-bb1ds2 жыл бұрын

I would think you would need to wear a respirator, no? Breathing in concrete vapor?
@dcshotcrete2 жыл бұрын
100% yes and no, absolutely with anything underground but as we spray wetter than most teams the overspray is far less than if you sprayed dry and dusty , the Fogg surrounding the nozzle is mostly water vaporising for the compressed air.

Hi mate , have watched all your content and have been wondering if you have plans of doing any instructional type content . As a chippy I’m really keen on doing a pool at my own place and while I’m watching everything I can there’s just a lot questions I have in regards to the process and the order of certain things. Some in-depth talking content would be amazing , the video when you were explaining / talking about the stairs , treads and risers was helpful Thanks Toby

hey regarding nozzleman shirt at about :50 there is a guy with shirt and black stripes on the shoulder looks like some type of padded shirt? I Only so shotcrete about every two months and I can seem to build up tough enough skin on my shoulders. Have you used or recommend any padded shirt. Here we could use an american football shirt that goes under the hard pads. anyway nice video again.
@dcshotcrete3 жыл бұрын
I seen what you mean Aaron , we don't wear padded clothes as it gets to hot , and yes it does take some time to build your shoulders into spraying. That being said there's a sense of satisfaction when you can spray shirtless and not feel any pain. Those shirtless videos will never see the light of day :).
@aaronmidkiff25333 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video does that have rock in the mix or just a sand mix. We have only crushed sand in our area so it’s hard to get the mud that creamy. We use a 3/8 rock mix. Which is guess is like a 9 mil.

Nevermind I just saw your reply on another video 7-10mm rock.
