We were on Carnival freedom for New Year’s and absolutely love the ship. We’re taking our second cruise on Carnival Venezia Thanksgiving week.

I have been on a Carnival booked excursion that was late, very late. The ship had to leave but it just moved out to open water where they ferried us to the ship. (Cozumel) it was an amazing experience because it was dark by the time we got in and the ship was beautiful all lit up. Something you don’t often get to see.

Tony, often a ship has to leave when it has to leave (especially ocean vessels). They only have the berth in port for certain hours, and there are other reasons as well that they could have to leave... so EVEN IF YOU BOOK WITH THE CRUISE LINE, if you don't get back in time, you may miss the ship. However, in that case the cruiseline will pay for your hotel, transportation, etc. or whatever you need and get you to the next port to meet the ship.

Never heard of either of them (I am not a film buff) so no, I wouldn’t waste my time or money on autographed pictures. I can’t think of anyone whose autograph I would want, paid or otherwise.

My wife and I did our first cruise on Song of America in the mid 80s, we enjoyed it so much we continued cruising, although on other ships. My 15th cruise was in 2023 and my 16th will be this year.

As someone who has an internal defibulator I do not need internet for device to work but do have to use it to down load the devise recording . I have cruised just can't go through metal detectors and dr.said could skip the down load while away.

I was on an excursion to Monaco. We got stuck in traffic, but we had a crew member on the cruise ship excursion.they called the ship and the ship waited for us.

Tony, if you want a quick costume, either wear a t-shirt with a lot of buttons (do they still have buttons at cons these days?) and tell people you came dressed as a fan, or you could dress as a Roman - just wear a t-shirt and wrap a bedsheet around you as a toga (there are KZbin videos with instructions on how to do this). If anyone asks who you're supposed to be, tell them you're a time traveler. Or the easiest costume of all would be a plaid bathrobe and slippers - tell them you're Arthur Dent from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I've never paid for any actor's autograph (but I'd be surprised if George Takei wasn't popular, as he's one of only three of the original Star Trek cast who's still alive). I did pay for an author's autograph once - in a way. His deal was that if you wanted an autograph, you had to make a donation to the charity he supported (as I recall it was a medical one, so that was fine by me). D&D is fun. Look out for Rust Monsters.

30 years ago, I got an offer in the mail for a cruise. Seemed like a great deal. $169 per person for 2 days-3 nights. So I called and signed up over the phone. I used a new credit card that had a $250 limit. I got a call the next day from the agency saying the card was declined. They said the total amount was <$340! I inquired why the charge was double what I was told. She said it was for 2 people (supposedly in the fine print). I explained that I was going alone. Then she started to suggest I get friend to come with me. I explained I didn’t have any friends that could leave work to go. She continued to try to get me to convince someone to share the room with me (like I’d ask a stranger). Eventually I hung up on her. I found out later that the cruise didn’t include anything (food/drinks/entertainment). I had never even heard of the cruise line.

My husband has IED defibrillator. While it does hook up through wifi to transmit your readings, it does not require internet connection to work appropriately. It is totally independent of any such thing. Scam!!
