Soapy water fails the silicone seal. Never do this. It will get in behind and you will see it start to peal away from the tiles

I used it today, the third horizontal glide is useful to lock in the width (it's in the amazon image). So for similar draws you don't have to measure the center everytime.

The fourth is my first choice and the first is my second choice. Idk how black plaster backing will effect the water temp for you though. Our pool is a brown backing with browns & black specs, and our pool gets warm in the heat of the summer (we live in AZ).

Don't forget to consider how you'll get coolers and gear back & forth from the house to the dock! You might need to include a ramp so that you don't have to carry ice-filled coolers down stairs.

I had estimated about $25k for ALL the fill dirt, including the pool area. I still think I'm pretty close. It's looking great and I love that you're still sharing this experience with us. I vote for the cool tones color scheme to go with your surroundings and warm it up with the wood tone you like.

There is no such thing as non removable pins for hinges. You can get security screws that are supposed to prevent the door from being taken off while in the locked position although I'm unsure of their effectiveness. Having it windout does make it harder to kickin but a crowbar can still open it as easily as an inward swing. You also run the risk of being trapped inside if there's any obstructions on the outside of the door.
