Saw Tony 3 or 4 times in person. I had just started learning to read tabs. It made such a difference for me to be able to read his tabs and learn his songs. What a great artist Tony Rice was. Musicians are grateful to have youtube to go and listen and learn. As he said: Are you impressed with a song to listen to it again and again to learn it. I would say all of his songs inspired us to do just that. RIP Tony Rice.

Tony was a very kind person. This video captures his persona very well. He was also a man of faith in God. He referred to his Heavenly Father often.

I would be afraid to buy most 13 year olds a Martin guitar. Kids have ways of losing interest. Now, if my kid is a 13 year old Cody Kilby, who not only has the talent but who has demonstrated his commitment, then Hell, yes. Absolutely love his playing.

There are very few players that can match Cody Kilby. I wonder if the tune he played here was inspired by Billy McLaughlin "Fingerdance"

Tony is so right... you're only as good as you can be with the quality of the musicians you play around... I'm at the bottom of the list . But always perk up when I am picking with someone who can keep time no matter what . And out play me.. because I feel so secure that they are going to be there in the same spot when the measure ends, or the end of part A or part B, regardless of the screwups anyone makes during their solo...

Rudimentary stuff everyone should already know if you are learning bluegrass. Also why do you guys capo for instructional videos? Some use 7 strings KEEP IT NORMAL. You are in Bm NOT Am but Am position apparently your viewers are beginners I'm trying to actually learn something extra here not Billy Bob videos on how to hold the pick and tune my guitar... TERRIBLE instruction Sutton is the WORST teacher on the net to be as awesome as he is
