Chest needs to stay over ball on the SH pass. Riach cane up early forcing the pass to travel high. Pretty sloppy

Excellent demo and analysis. It’s hard to advise young wings to play around with their angles and deek on defense (ie fake the inside but explode outside in time). You’re already hosed by a 3-on-1, so trying to defend mentally (ie making the Slider overthink) with your initial position is basically your last tool to buy time for your inside support.

Re: Odogwu vs Curry (in at the side 13:25 >) : Although I agree Curry was in at the side, I thought the question was going to be, is Odogwu off his feet and does the check play its part in giving him (Odogwu) a pass? Really interesting video. I wish more would watch ref content. Edit: I should add that I think Curry is trying to show the ref that he thinks Odogwu is off his feet, rather than trying to jackal the ball (which could be a bonus outcome).

No because scott gibbs is no longer playing. The beauty of this try is that even if an England player were to attempt a tackle. Gibbs would've both scored and put them on they're backside.

7.50 Question - the offside line is the hindmost foot - no matter who's it belongs to. As you say, looks all wrong, and the same team could have people who legally create both offside lines (like England do in the clip at 20mins in). Pretty sure the law makers will be looking whether the ball could become an offside line (like it is in the scrum for the 9s. Unintended consequences to consider maybe?)

Nice analysis. Any chance of some analysis of scrums?

Thought of a progression…. Same team attack both sides and can add more or less support players either side meaning the defence have to organise and match numbers

Poor Referee. Number 12 is offside as he enters the 5m offside line at the scrum before the ball is out

Love this video. As a Kiwi fan I have admired the innovation to the game brought by the Ireland rugby over recent years. New Zealand has always had great athletes but Ireland were smart enough to really build the best team game. So structured and accurate and lots of options building multi skilled players. I only hope NZ rugby drives the same. Despite the All Blacks knocking out Ireland in the World cup, Ireland are still the better rugby nation in my opinion. NZ teams are not applying this style rugby enough at all tier levels.

Nice move but that D gave themselves up too easily, 12 and 13 could have jockeyd alot more and then defend the touchline more than the gainline
@GeraintDaviesGDD10 ай бұрын
Possibly. I'd say that they fail to react to the shift in set up and don't move wide enough early enough to allow them to keep pressing. Being passive isn't the answer IMO.
@rugbywhisperer-coachkane303810 ай бұрын
@GeraintDaviesGDD yeah definitely not passive, 13 actually sits on his heels, shocker... needed to keep those feet moving

the run at 2.05 is 100% offside if he gets involved in any play it should be a penalty. regardless if he is back onside at the time he has been offside to put himself in this position.

Ah at last what were are named for, the Boks Kicks. I must say I am impressed you did the video based almost entirely on the game that Wales lost. I take it you are Welsh which means if you are a rugby fan like me then this couldnt have been the easiest game to analyse. Although I suppose you dont see it like that but rather all the best parts of the game. And i appreciate how you saw the skillset of the Boks as a positive thing. Not "boring" like some have argued
