You don't need high level gain for this track. You can set it round 4-5. In the first half of the song you can also set the guitar's pickup volume to 5-6 and in the second part in full volume. The treble, bass, middle on your amp are on your taste. You can also use reverb and delay effects.

How do you read the tabs?

Each line is a guitar string. The last line in the tab is the low E sting of the guitar and the first line is the high E string. So you read it upside down. The numbers on the line are the frets that you have to play in each string. Other symbols that you see are guitar techniques like (bend, vibrato etc...) but I think you must search for video tutorial how to play them.
