2640 boost? My strix 4090 is 2805mhz standard, i just googled it and its saying 2640mhz too, whats going on? I usually keep my 4090 downclocked to 2700mhz at 945mV (this is my personal balance of performance, energy and heat)

It's the same GPU at it's core... it's an Nvidia 4090 all it comes down to is cooling and packing... at it's core it's the same. Your just paying ASUS to Overclock an Nvidia 4090 and give you their brand name on the Graphics card... you would be better off getting a Founders Edition and Overclocking it in MSI Afterburner or an OCing tool... 😂😒.

Could you provide the EAN number part on the box itself? I mean we do have untrustworthy retailers (wholesalers too) in Poland, and I would like to know if this is 'in the every box' - or are there two SKU's from ASUS ?

@ChristianWheel11 ай бұрын
I haven't experienced any significant coil whine but YMMV. Coil whine is very situational with your specific psu and other components in your system.

Hey, nice and very helpful vid, but are they still making the oc version of the 4090 in white? I looked at overclockers, and its on pre order with no eta, and, on the site of asus, the oc was removed from the site. Do you still have any additional info on where to get this, or should I just go with overclockers with no guarantees? Thanks!
@ChristianWheel Жыл бұрын
I think you may be right, the OC variant has been removed from even Asus's web shop. They haven't made any statements about it, but the only listings I can find for any OC variants actively on sale are on eBay. The non-OC white variant also seems to be out of stock in most retail spaces too. Where are you located? FYI if you import to the US from Overclockers there's an additional ~$700 import tariff you'll have to pay, so if you're American you might as well pay the eBay prices and get it right away. You can also try a backorder from www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?action=thispage&thispage=01100500U012_B10RN56P.shtml, ShopBLT is a legitimate seller, they mostly sell B2B but I've bought a lot of enterprise-grade gear from them. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

I am assuming I would see a huge uplift going from a Ryzen 2700X to a Ryzen 5600X3D. Did you notice how much warmer the 5600X3D ran compared to the other CPUs?
@ChristianWheel Жыл бұрын
It'd be a pretty insane upgrade, yeah! I don't track thermals that way because they're such a function of both cooler and case, the data is so specific to the system it's hard to make it relevant to a general audience. But you can infer that thermals will be directly proportional to the power draw chart. A mid-range cooler or better should be fine to handle the 5600X3D.
@godwhomismike Жыл бұрын
@@ChristianWheel Thank you. I am running in a small ITX case (InWin A1 Plus) and using the stock Wraith Prism cooler on my 2700X. Nearly 4 years with the first 2.5 years running 24/7. I been finding the 2-3 seconds of stuttering to be annoying immediately after a new area loads up.
@ChristianWheel Жыл бұрын
@@godwhomismike The Wraith Prism miiiight be able to handle the 5600x3d, but if you have the budget, take a look at the Noctua NH-U14S, NH-D12L or maybe the ID Cooling IS-50X if you're tighter on space.

@ChristianWheel Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately coil whine can vary wildly from system to system, and even from unit to unit within the same sku. I didn't experience coil whine beyond the light ticking that's generally standard on GPUs. But others have reported loud whine on the regular Strix.
