Ice barrier finally got support. Lancea is stupid and I love him. In 9/10 hands I can get Lancea and Chenying out turn 1. Ice barrier traps kinda suck though.

The art work between the monsters are different because the deck is related to several other archetypes Edit - you can use the continuous spell ground collapse it blocks two zones then summon justify now your opponent will be forced to play under justify locking them out for there first turn

Ice barriers are actually pretty good when combined with the right shit. First, the three most common cards in the deck, defender, samurai and pilgrim, add up to eleven stars with a tuner, letting you summon zero dragon Trish, letting you banish 3 cards off your opponent's field before any of their combos are set up. Next, aquarium stage is possibly the best card for any water deck. Water monsters can't be knocked out by anything but water monsters, the other aquarium card, aquarium set, works the same as umiiruka, boosting your attack by 300-500 points, speaking of, you can summon ALL of the aquarium cards from your deck with one copy of aquaatress tetra! To stop your opponent from going mad with power while you are setting up your combos, swords of revealing light, forbidden apocrypha (my savior) and solitary sword of poison all help greatly. Next off, the extra deck is possible the best part about this deck. Dewloren is only applicable in a couple of situations, however, zero dragon trishula gets to live after it gets sent to the graveyard, gains 400 more attack, gets to banish three cads again, this time from their GY, hand and field, abunch of xyz monsters like tornado dragon, snowdust giant and heartlandraco are always useful and you even get a third, slightly worse fusion trishula without having to use polymerization! I personally love this deck in 2023, I've won plenty of locals with it, relish in bullying tearlament kids and never let ANYONE, finish their combos. You can go first, second, doesn't matter, whatever your opponent chooses. Sorry for the rant tbh I just like typing about stuff I like, also I know you don't care but I like spewing my combo ideas 💀

Not gonna use baronne, will add the savage dragon and the 2 odd eyes. I saw another qli deck and i must say that they are rather... consistent in terms of recipe.

Love the video. Honestly, it's one of my favorite decks. I am not a competitive meta player, but this deck is so off meta, I pull in more wins than I should because no one knows how to play against it. I do play with a mix of water Swordsouls and all Swordsoul tokens are water as well and surprisingly plays well with ice barriers and i Love that you can take your time and lock down the field or just otk with your synchros depending on your hand and there is not much your opponent can do. Also I do not know what is with trishula, zero dragon but every one always kills her on site with out reading her card and then quit the moment they realized there mistake by summoning the true boss. I love that it makes the OG trishula the true boss of the deck.

How well has this deck performed for you for the most part?

From what you said about Ass Blossom, I know Konami will limit it in the next banlist update. Maybe even Nibiru, too. Everyone is playing 3 of each. Also, you need the Marincess links.

Ice Barriers have some hidden gems in their archtype, unfortunately held back by the passage of time. I'd reccomend splashing a small marincess line to get up to one of their link 4's with their imperm trap (sleepy marincess lady is also just a decent extender regardless) and you have access to the varieties of generic water support out there.

I have not played Mikanko/Libromancer but been enjoying Mikanko Pure, there were some recent top eights from pure list utilizing 3 water arabesque and 9 main deck kaiju effects

Village is good with liger king. Usually pop himself. Gets you summon from deck and graveyard. I also run one fire flint lady, durendal, and gearfried. I also run one Amazoness spy. Helps get into Isolde easier

I have on my own 3 difrend builds what dont hurt this deck. Deep sea diva. Fish endgine with new ice jade tuner and swordsoul. Deck is realy flexable on combos and you can make strong combo turn 1 and lock oponent (i know it becouse i play ice barriers for realy long and i love control board with warlock :) )

Nice to see this deck, it has been my favorite deck for more than a decade and I am so glad Konami still remembers them. I just wish we got a link 2 or 1 that disrupts the opponent in some way bc so far they can flood the field and have amazing consistency but they just kinda sit there during your opponent's turn hoping they don't run over your big monsters.

Another extra deck cards you could use is Mereologic Aggregator for a temporary omni negate

You don't need 2 of the pendulum scales or you will brick. 1 of each. War Chief is for polymerization or arts or the traps. 1 specialist. 2 isn't needed. Put 2 shy in this. Free summon. 3 polymerization. At least 3 equips. If you open with that 1, your plays are stopped. When Phoenix gearblade comes out, get 3 but only need 2 at most. Onslaught at 1. Don't tell me you running any of the ligers. No. They are below trash. Why waste the space. 3 Empress. Run Ra'ten. Isole into cross-sheep or Ra'ten is good. Re'ten is a free summon any level 4 or lower that is the same type it is pointing to and destroys 1 card every turn For tech cards, Irun the level 5 Star Warriors setup with 1 or 2 joker's knights and 2 Jack's knight and 1 unity star and 3 Battleguard cadet and 3 feast of the wild Testing out the new cards but the new rank 5 showing looking good. Phoenix gearblade is a must. Oh and puppet rook is another interesting tech card.
