The problem starts when you disagree or strongly disagree with the person you're listening. Then you have a choice either to step onto your principles and support your friend no matter what...or to be honest and probably hurt your friend's feelings

This is a good video expressing a universal truth. I discovered my own "acre of diamonds" in 1988 using a pickup truck to haul away other people's unwanted stuff.

Eric Hoffer was definitely an anti-communist and I remember he said on TV that he was interested in the government that left him alone, which gave him the most freedom. Well that's fine but during the time in which he lived there was definitely a movement opposing-communism where if you actually had the temerity to talk to a communist or somebody who didn't speak the correct propaganda approved by the state you could be brought in for interrogation, and you could go to jail especially if you didn't name the names of the people that you talked to. How is that leaving people alone? To decide for themselves what they want to talk about and what policies they want to support without the paranoia of the state in persecution of them. The state is controlled by the wealthy, of course, that's the reason why you had that result. It isn't controlled by you and me as we have no say over social policy other than by voting for.two party politicians both of whom are bought by the rich.. They have society wrapped up in a nice little package with all the percs going to them, the ownership class. So how do you get change if you don't join a movement that grabs the attention of a large number of people who are a source of political power outside of Big Money? The fact that many people join movements for petty or ugly personal motives is besides the point. Maybe they elevate themselves by being part of something outside of themselves.

Act as if it were impossible to fail 1. Know thyself 2. When doing anything Act as if it were impossible to fail 3. There is no general definition of success 4. Those who reach success are likely to be constant workers 5. It is the some of small things successfully donw , that will transform your life Success for any man is the equivalent of doing his best - free your self from the fear of failure

I bought this book, thinking it would help me get into the minds of people who want communism and Marxism. Comes to find out he mocked Christianity more than the Nazi regime. What wretched soul is Eric.

It usually turns out that the grass isn't greener on the other side. I've witnessed people do this in real life a few times. That pot of gold you see from afar, may end up being a pot of piss. Good luck to anyone reading this.
