Just spent ages watching multiple live recordings to find these bits in this show: 13:44 - mole, foal 30:38 - mole, foal, bowl 37:27 - mole, foal, bowl, pole 48:05 - mole, foal, bowl, pole, goal So gloriously weird. This last followed by the brilliant scoop chop/mash sickness bit, which was a nice bonus.

Harrys humour is humour for 5 year olds. He got great natural flow on that mic though. If he wrote some material that made sense then he could actually be FUNNY. He is a lovely bloke but he nothing compared to the brilliant Roy Chubby Brown. Like I said, Harry writes humour for 5 year olds. Bless him for trying.

Roy Chubby Brown's humour is humour for racist 50 year olds. He got an annoying voice on that mic though. If he wrote some material that wasn't offensive he could actually be FUNNY. He is a horrendous human but he nothing compared to the brilliant Harry Hill. Like I said, Roy writes humour for racist 50 year olds. Bless him for trying.

I disagree, it's humour for intelligent adults who still have a love for the kind of absurd humour that 5yr olds typically love. There's a difference. For instance, there's no way a 5yr old (even in 97) could have picked up on half the references, let alone call backs during the set. Saying _'If he wrote some material that made sense then he could actually be FUNNY.'_ says it all. His style is absurdist, if you don't like it fine, but it has nothing to do with age only style. You likely don't _'get'_ Monty Python or Tommy Cooper either, but they're hardly for children. Fine if you don't find it funny, it's not for you.
@shaunigothictv1003 Жыл бұрын
@@carlhartwell7978 Actually Monty Python were a great team and they wrote some very structured material that was very funny. But of course comedy is subjective. I have noticed that people (like you) who enjoy Harry Hills comedy have also called my heros Roy Chubby Brown and Bernard Manning racist. Why is that? Jealousy perhaps? I think this is very unfair. Please respond.......................
@carlhartwell7978 Жыл бұрын
@@shaunigothictv1003 I think Harry also has structured material. It intentionally seems chaotic, but structured. Like Python, I'm a huge Python fan and see similarities, I can't understand how you don't?!? That's why I assumed you didn't like Python. That's weird, Python are off the wall ludicrous...just as much as Harry! Actually I like Manning and Brown, they're certainly edgy, but I wouldn't say racist. I find Harry Hill far funnier of course, but horses for, as you say. ... So no, not 'like me' perhaps. But so far as edgy comedians who acknowledge racial differeces are concerned, I prefer Richard Pryor, Bill Burr and Dave Chapelle. Burr is likely my all time favourite standup though, closely followed by Connolly. Like I insinuated in my first reply though, I still take exception to the 5yo remark in the OP. I don't particularly take kindly to the suggestion that I'm 'less than' 43 just because I find Hill funny, no, very funny.
@shaunigothictv1003 Жыл бұрын
@@carlhartwell7978 Ok. Now that you have proved that you are not a dum little snowflake that runs around calling my heros racist - i will now meet you halfway and accept your analysis and retract my original statement. Edited ammendment: You are not 5 years old - your are indeed 43 and Harry Hill writes very "structured material" similiar to Monty Pythons stuff. There we are - all fixed now!

I will always love watching anything Harry does. I was hooked from the minute I saw him doing a few minutes on some show or other in his early days, and he came out with the classic joke - "My mother was a stoic woman.. Gave birth to me at the hospital in the morning. She was back at work in the afternoon.." "Mind.. I'm sure than in hindsight, even she would admit it was a mistake cycling home from the hospital.."
