Thanks! I will hopefully find out in a couple of month as I am still working on the car. I've shorted a number of driveshaft through the years and never had a problem with vibrations, but we'll see...

You spend all week in the shop making your masterpiece and then your girl comes out and give you RBF. Mine is the same way. Meanwhile I’m supposed to be impressed that she painted a yogurt cup and put fake flower in it.

Hi, what’s the tools name?
@hotrodhocke
@hotrodhocke 3 жыл бұрын
I guess you're asking about the level or angle finder that's used in the video. It's a tool named "Inogon" made here in Sweden back in the 1980s and from what I can find not available for sale any longer as it most likely has been replaced by the digital angle finders available today. The main feature of the tool is of course the Moiré pattern used on the fixed and moving parts of the tool that makes it really easy to see from a distance if something is in parallel with something else or if something has the angle you want it to have.

Very Nicely Done! I particularly liked how you fabricated the foot switch and your use of stainless steel strapping to secure the motor to the (reinforced) frame. Really neat and efficient, thank you for sharing you greatly improved bead roller. Subscribed.

Great workmanship. I just finished reading the Car and Driver article on the classic American car culture in Sweden. They were into rockabilly. You're into doo wop. Can't go wrong either way as long as you're in a Mustang.

you like north american hot rods. very cool show. we have at least 3 in my city every weekend sunday night cruise has 2 BIG shows with at least a thousands vehicles.NO new stuff has to be 30 years old or older unless it's a factory hot rod (shelby mustang,hellcat,vette ,copo camaro ,ferrari,lambo etc.).certain parts of canada are frozen in ice for 6 months so we have to make up for lost time.the cars here would astonish you.every make model from every country and every period.we have 19 hours of daylight in the middle of summer, so you have lots of time for pics..we have lots of canadian models and makes you won't find in the u.s.

Unfortunately don't have a clue. My initial intention was to use it on my '67 Ford Mustang which would have required extensive modifications that never happened. Today it's actually the major part of a drill press stand I've made.

How much of the tube did you actually cut off and did you use the Borgesson steering shaft or do you have a collapsible shaft?
@hotrodhocke
@hotrodhocke 6 жыл бұрын
We used the Borgeson shaft that was included in the kit and the length of the shaft pretty much determine how much to cut the column.
@dannyfackler7104
@dannyfackler7104 6 жыл бұрын
I had the old solid shaft system and ordered the Borgesson kit but it didn't include the shaft. I just ordered the shaft and rag joint and wondered how much shaft to leave exposed for the stock wood grain steering wheel to mount to shaft. Knowing that would tell me how much I will need to cut off column tube.
@hotrodhocke
@hotrodhocke 6 жыл бұрын
If I remember things correctly we testfitted the steering wheel, column tube and the Borgeson shaft before we decided how much to cut the column tube. One other thing I'd like to share is the bracket I made later to attach the steering column to the firewall, scroll down on this webpage and there's pictures of it: fyi.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=7908

Yes it does but it's more or less useless (unless they've improved it) and that's why I took the time to come up with something that actually works.

Watched this 10times...thanks...looked through McMaster Carr to match up parts. You mind posting about that Clovis and hold down? Plus do u have a part number on the hurst lever? Great work. Thanks! I’m doing this to a 380SL with a SBC and a T5 trans from a firebird..

I live in Sweden and bought the parts locally, the clevis rod ends I used are size M12 which is almost equal to 1/2". This is the closest design I could find at McMaste Carr: www.mcmaster.com/#clevises/=1cyys4g The Hurst lever has "8550" stamped on it and I think this might be it: www.hurstshiftersonline.com/productcart/pc/Hurst-Chrome-8-1-2-in-Long-shifter-stick-Knob-1983-2004-Mustang-T5-p196.htm

I'm planning on something very similar. Only my modification will be to to convert to a remote cable shift with dual push-pull control cables. I had come up with a number of designs, but the integration of an adapter to the OEM housing as you have done is very similar to what i had planned to use.
