Hi Chris what is your opinion on Coco Wyo trying to claim copyright for the words Bold And Easy?
@ChrisRaydogКүн бұрын
I don't see any chance of that getting accepted -- strangers things have happened, but I don't see it happening. It is also pathetic. They have books ranked number 4, 10, 20 and so on, in the US store and that still isn't enough for them. They have copied many publishers (including me) and pretty much identically took Megan's idea and ran with it like it was their own. But no, it's not enough, they still have to try and shit on every one else.

Hi Chris, do you have any thoughts about using book titles/keywords such as coloring/cozy etc as regards to the UK searches? Are these coloring books selling at at in the UK market if they are not using those spellings of the main keywords? My experience using 'coloring' hasn't been too great over here.

Thank you for this video! I've also found that product targeting works nicely for coloring books. I can't get any auto campaign to perform well on the US Amazon (even if in the UK the same book performs nicely in auto). People just seem to be browsing and not buying. Manual product targeting seems to bring much better results (in the US).

Hi Chris, sorry to bring this topic or issue here but I have lost hope in finding a contact information for KDP support team as I can't sign in. Because you need to sign in if you want to be able to contact them via chat. Is there a way as I have issues with my OTP ( a one time password verification code) which I am not receiving into my phone. 😢 My email and password are fine but for some reasons I am faced with that verification thing which turned to be a nightmare after I changed the number where I should get it. But it's being sent or I don't know why I am not getting it. They when I try multiple time they say that they have sent me a lot of OTPs and I should try later.

I don't understand how you could have some results in medium content books (i.e childrens books) with auto ads with low bids in US ... I have not a strong experience but when I bid 0.1 to 0.8, nothing happens. I know I have to wait because this is auto campaigns. I spend a lot of money for the launch period, 155 orders in 1.5 months, bsr between 25k and 35k in US (very good for me as a beginner) now i keep only my auto campaign, but it is not performing well... i have some organic sales but this is not crazy.

I agree with most of your points. Only thing I find hard is change these customers to premium customers, they're used to spend 5-10$ for a book and you jump that almost double or triple the price they were used on Amazon,unless it's really premium I see it hard to just the extra buck. Just my two cents
@zaqwerty2227 күн бұрын
18 GBD for book... It would be very difficulty to sell. Not a hater but triple the price is to much.
@thinkjon27 күн бұрын
The BIGGEST hurdle about building a brand "outside" of Amazon is to OWN the ISBN for your books. If you allow Amazon to own the ISBN they then have the rights to the book. I'm surprised you didn't address this right from the start of your video? If you purchase your own ISBN, then Amazon is a "publisher and marketplace" and you can have your books published by OTHER platforms if you wish. This completely free you from relying solely on Amazon if there ever is a problem with your Amazon account. Building your own e-commerce resource (website) and brand image with other products is great, but it doesn't help if 90% of your products are books with the ISBN still owned by Amazon. It's still a legal problem. Please share with us HOW to change to your own ISBN numbers along with the most cost effective way to do this. Great videos, HUGE fan of your work!
@ComedorDelrico27 күн бұрын
Using Amazon's free ISBN does not give them rights to the book. ISBN and copyright are two completely different issues. You don't need an ISBN to sell on your own website. The main reason to purchase your own ISBNs is if you want to publish on multiple platforms (Amazon, IngramSpark, etc) and you don't want to end up with multiple listings on Amazon. Using your own ISBN ensures that Amazon lists all copies/versions of the book on one listing. The other reason to purchase your own ISBN is that it can help you get into physical bookstores. ISBNs are prohibitively expensive in the US, so not necessarily a good option, depending on your circumstances.
@mytimewithbooks25 күн бұрын
@@ComedorDelrico So can we post the same book on our website even though we have the KDP ISBN? Or do you put a different version of the book on your site?
@ComedorDelrico25 күн бұрын
@@mytimewithbooks You can use the same book. The one on your website doesn't need to have any ISBN. The ISBN is for retail/wholesale tracking purposes. It doesn't have anything to do with rights or exclusivity. I am assuming your book isn't in KU/Kindle Select. If it's in KU/Kindle Select, then you can't sell the ebook outside of Amazon. But that has nothing to do with ISBN numbers.
@mytimewithbooks22 күн бұрын

100% agree about owning the relationship, especially long term. I love Amazon KDP, but another example I've been spending a decent budget to rank a very good book in the top search results for a term. It had 10x organic 5 star reviews and only positive feedback, then all of a sudden it gets 3x 1 star reviews. I find this happens far too much and put it down to competitors trying to kill off others with spamming negative ratings. Not sure if you've experienced that before, it's just frustrating.
@zaqwerty2227 күн бұрын
Or KDP send them very bad copie. A lot of negative reviews I saw was about paper quality, errors with printing or damaged package.

@ChrisRaydog yeah, at first I thought I am just not getting impressions, so I complained about that. They told me: just raise the bids man! When it didn't help I figured that there was some sort of budget cap in place that I did not set up. After complaining about that it took them some time to fix it and needless to say my ads were a total mess with all the high bids after that.
