When Iris is shown in the cutscene and Zero says "I'm sorry" to her as he dies, has always hit home so hard for me. It takes me right back to the place I was in when I was playing these games circa 2006 - 2008ish. There was a girl that I loved so much, my first love. We were both around 18-20~ around that time. I messed things up and wasn't there for her emotionally as I was a young, immature guy who didn't know how good of a thing he had. I am 37 years old now. It kick-started a whole change in my life of going out and having so many pointless relationships, flings, and heartbreaks. I missed her so much for so long, and even to this day I still sit back and think of her from time to time, wondering what life would have been had I manned up and put a ring on her finger back then. I feel like I will be like Zero here as I take my dying breath and see my life flashing before my eyes as losing her and breaking her heart was the worst mistake of my entire life, even to this day. Sophia was my Iris. 😭
