I have a question those who play american civil war wargames with a confederate army are racists people or just people who loves historical wargames
@evilstu31772 ай бұрын
Have personally never encountered instances of racism, sexism or homophobia in any tabletop miniatures gaming (be it historical, fantasy or sci-fi), role playing or board/card games. Those type of people don't seem drawn to this hobby and also aren't the type of people I'd spend time with if they were. Have seen/heard plenty in online video games though - may be the disassociation with not being physically present that drives this behaviour? In answer to your question, I personally use historical games as a framework to learn more about a particular period of history. For example, whilst in the present day we rightly view the existence of slavery in the US as late as the 19th century as abhorrent, at the time it required a war to resolve the matter. Unpacking the causes of and drivers behind such historical events can assist in recognising similar regrettable patterns in the present day. As far as gaming a particular period on the tabletop, It's probably no better an indication of racism than reading a book/watching a movie/playing a video game based in that conflict. Cheers, hope this asssists.

“300 figures should hold me over for the month” 😂good luck to you! I probably haven’t painted that many figures in a year
@evilstu31772 ай бұрын
Ah yes, but please keep in mind: 1. I cheat, 2. I'm retired, 3. I don't have kids at home to look after, 4. I'm just trying to hammer out minis to tabletop standard before my eyes and hands make it harder to do so (date of birth issue here...) 5. All the minis i'm doing are similar sculpts which allows bigger and quicker batch painting. Output shouldn't be your main hobby focus (unless you have a deadline for a game), the main focus should be your enjoyment but if you are hitting close to 300ish minis in a year that is pretty huge and still well ahead of where I used to land when I didn't have so much free time. Thanks for watching and best of luck for your projects!

where did you get the movement regimental bases Like the slope effect and makes a nicer frame of your painted miniatures?
@evilstu31776 ай бұрын
The trays are 3d prints. I'm fairly sure this is the original file, I just adjust the scaling to fit the base size I need. I usually paint and flock the edges to blend everything in to the tabletop, but haven't gotten to that stage with this project yet obviously :) www.thingiverse.com/thing:2987823
