Thank you for this video! I am trying to create something similar but I need to export the 3d model WITH the exaggerated Z. The web layer sharing features give a lot of issues. Do you have any advice for this?

Living Atlas has a world wide terrain DEM if you cant find what your looking for in USGS. Just zoom to your area and export as a new raster {4999 by 4999 max)

Actually, this is not the solution. 3D can only be displayed through your background elevation surface. When you look at the contents, you see raster data is still under the 2D layers instead of 3D!

Thank you for the insightful video. Which version of ArcGIS Pro did you work on? I am currently using ArcGIS Pro 3.2.2 and every time I try creating a spectral profile, ArcGIS Pro becomes numb and there is nothing I can do about it except for shutting down the program.

Great description of the procedures for feature layers in Field Maps. Keep the videos coming for Field Maps and ArcGIS Pro.

Hi, I clicked on the download link in the USGS site which created some files in my ArcPro Catalog pane but these files didn't look (different icon symbol ) like your example in the video. Also, they would not drag and drop to the map pane. Please consult. Thanks, Will

And … You can do ‘convert to Local/Global scene”, retaining the layers of the initial map, I believe

A little puzzled about the export/import part. I usually create an area of the desired size and shape by: 1. Create a polygon feature class called AOI (Area of Interest) 2. Create a rectangle covering the desired AOI and save 3. Run Clip Raster on any involved layers 4. Remove the full coverage layers, leaving only the clipped AOI size layers remaining.

Awsome, the trick of overlaying a colored version of the DTM - and increasing transparency is useful. Now - you should do a similar video using a Digital Surface Model - especially in areas with buildings, bridges etc - to get a 3D view of the actual scene - not just the ground. Combine with a viewshed analysis for more fun.

So, among many other things, ArcGIS Pro is great at map making, with 3D topography. That's really damn cool! Does it cost anything to download the USGS files?
