I would argue that certain groups that have been freed (such as slavery) aren't actually as concerned with the freedom part as much as they are with the victim part. For some people, there are a lot of perks that come with being a victim, and they don't want that to end. For example, you are seeing some minority groups in colleges who are going back to segregation on their own free will. Why would this happen if they were screaming for freedom?
