I dont hear a difference. You probably should have put way more than you did. Gear driven motors I've seen in other applications always have way more grease than this.
@skatinggreen5621Ай бұрын
The grease that was applied to this particular gear drive system was light if you ride right out of the box. Meepos concern for a mass amount of grease is that it will build up in empty pockets in the gear casing. That is the reason I went as light as I did as I wanted to follow more there process. I don't think you will do harm to your gear drive if you do more then they would recommend as you stated yourself alot of gear drives apply more. Every board is different and if at any point over next summer that my gear drive becomes a concern I will make an updated video.

If my research is right the renegade is better built to ride the off-road so it should be a better ride then the Haden. If you look back to my very first videos I had a evolve gt. I'm happy to see how the company has learned and grown to what the community needs in a board.

Biggest problem with gear drives is them getting too hot and it also makes the motor overheat.
@skatinggreen56216 ай бұрын
I have never had that issue with my Meepo Hurricane. There motors have heat sink covers that helps them stay cool. The gears themselves can get hot but that's were you need grease to keep the gears from overheating. If I do encounter these issues I'll have a video stating so in the future.

How many miles did you put on this before it broke the first time? And the second time?
@skatinggreen56216 ай бұрын
The first weld break happened on my first ride. The second look some time but it seems to be the risk anytime you are putting tension on the back wheels. So far with my third one it's doing fine but it's still a worrisome weld location.

How often and how much maintenance do you do on Helix and used to do on G series? Thanks
@skatinggreen56216 ай бұрын
So with belts it's alot less maintenance but have to clean often and risk of the belt system getting damaged. Helix is gear driven. Still figuring out how long the grease is good for but right now I'm cleaning and re applying every five rides. With that said the Helix requires much more maintenance.
@alenpln6 ай бұрын
@@skatinggreen5621thanks! What about axle joints? My X4S is said to be serviced every 6 rides and it takes about 40 minutes to service it. And also I've never had any issues with belts there maybe due to lower spec ESC
@skatinggreen56216 ай бұрын
I'm guessing that's propel x4s? Baja and propel have different frame builds. Bajaboards belt system design made the system vulnerable to dirt and debris. You mean maintenance on axel joints?
@alenpln6 ай бұрын
@@skatinggreen5621 yes, did you ever need to regrease them on G4? How many miles you did on it for the whole lifetime of the board?
@skatinggreen56216 ай бұрын
@alenpln When it was the belts I only re greesed once or twice a year. With the gears since you have to re grease the system every 5 rides I usually just regressed everything.

Hello, Nice Videos. Sure! Can you please tell me which off-road electric skateboard brand and model you can recommend to me? I'm a beginner but still want to start with a decent brand. Meepo Hurricane doesn't have shock absorbers (I think), I really like the Propel Endeavor 2 GT. Of course, Baja is also an option. I still need to buy a helmet and some protective gear for my hands, knees, and elbows (if necessary). Thank you for your response. Your videos are really nice. It would be great if you could include the information in your videos, such as brands and names. Thank you very much.
@skatinggreen56218 ай бұрын
Hey there and thank you. You do have a few options for off roading. Propel endeavor models are great boards! I've never been on one myself but I am in touch with someone that works for the company and know there a good board. Bajaboards are also great as I have one myself. Bajaboards require alot more maintenance but they have a bigger clearance then the endeavor. Your location will make a difference as well. Bajaboards are made in Australia and Propel has a couple locations but they can ship in the U.S.A. It's something to keep in mind for shipping as you will need to replace or upgrade parts in the future. A onewheel is great for both street and off-road options. Not sure what you mean by mentioning brands and names as all time trial videos titles as the brand and name of what I'm riding. If you do have any more questions feel free to add me on Facebook or Instagram and send me a message 👍. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100053377298981&mibextid=ZbWKwL instagram.com/skatinggreen?igsh=MWR1dTVudHRwY2o3Zw==

@@skatinggreen5621 Thank you for your response. I live in Germany, where unfortunately all types of electric skateboards are prohibited. I want to use the electric skateboard in Turkey; there are very beautiful places there, perfect for it in terms of surroundings and nature. The Bajaboard would be too heavy for me at the beginning because of the many maintenance requirements, I think. I will definitely buy the Propel Endeavor 2 GT, but unfortunately, shipping takes a long time and the shipping costs are very expensive. My English is not fine, and I appreciate you using a translator. For example, in your video, you showed gloves and knee pads, but sometimes it's hard to see the brands, especially with the language difference, which makes it even harder to understand. Some KZbinrs also write the names of the products in the video or add links, which would make it easier for viewers. Thank you for your links for Instagram and Facebook. If you continue making videos like this, many people will watch them; you have the talent for it. All the best for now. 😎👍🏽

I don't know if the UK would be less expensive but evolve did come out with a mountain board model, worth looking into. I will remember to have better references in my product review videos. Look into some dirt bike padding. Any helmet works. Just make sure you have one on when riding 👍. Thank you for your feedback.

After this Time Trial how do you like the Spline drive system?
@trevorclarke-d5v9 ай бұрын
I have the S2 Enduro with 10" wheels luv the Herringbone Drive not much maintenance involved Thinking of The Helix 4 but wheel base much shorter 3" Im thinking of the Gx4 with the bash plate to protect the belts and also the difference in legnth and different riding experience They also have switched to the Spline-Drive which they say is better than the dog-bone drive I have and I am in process of changing to the Helix The dog-bone wore out my Outdrives and pins would break and id have too much lateral play
@skatinggreen56219 ай бұрын
Even with the issues I had with the drive system that day, I still think the Helix is better. Bash plate guard doesn't really help and rocks still get caught in the belt drive system. Helix 4 has alot of power! G4 does give you a better stance if you plan on not using any foot straps. With foot straps Helix4 will turn just as well.

which board do you prefer the g4 or the helix?
@skatinggreen562110 ай бұрын
Helix. Simply because debris can no longer get into your drive system. I've had a handful of times that my belt drive would lock up from rocks jamming the system. The gear drive has more torque and power. The gear drive is a lot more maintenance though. Check out my review video about the gear drive. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWwfXagnaxqfrcsi=yENb1CJHprWbWvPD
