As I play this I am taken back to when I was a boy. Trips into the city for parades. Often they would include a bagpipe marching band. My father, who had a keen interest in family history would always tell me, "Listen to this and learn about your heritage."

Have seen the Chilli Pipers many times on the numerous events they have held in Hartford CT. They "rock the room" every place they appear. Laird Richard

All good clean fun but I prefer my Great Britains to be THE United Kingdom. But then again we could always break that down into the smallest possible self governing units (counties as countries, anyone?) and have done with it ... and just how long would it last? If successful we could even break that model down further, to (say) cities, towns ... villages ... streets, families, individuals; all with their very own vote on any and all issue/s. After which some progressive thinker would think how much better it would be if everyone banded together and united into ... ... ... never mind; been there, done that.

I first heard this at a Scottish dinner open to the public in New Zealand years ago. I was hooked. I love it.

I would listen to this out on my balcony in Queensland, Australia. Humidity through the roof, sweating buckets, too hot for a Scotsman... I'd listen to this and dream of my home country, my bonnie Scotland 🏴. Now I am home, I listen to this and dream of my other home, my bonnie Australia 🇦🇺... This song is now my parallel universe. 🏴🇦🇺❤️

Oh Flower Of Scotland, When will we see, your like again That fought and died for Yer wee bit hill and glen And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again The hills are bare now And autumn leaves lie thick and still For land that is lost now Which those so dearly held And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again Those days are past now And in the past, they must remain But we can still rise now And be the nation again That stood against him Proud Edward's Army And sent him homeward Tae think again The hills are bare now And autumn…
