We love Lake Powell! Our first adventure on the lake was in July 2004. The lake was about 120 feet below full pool. We rented a boat at Wahweap Marina for 5 days and camped out in Dry Rock Creek Canyon on a nice sandy beach. When we got back home to San Diego, we bought a new boat. We went back the very next summer, 2005, went to the same area and our camp from the year before was 40 feet under water but we found a spot and camped out for a week. We ended up going back for week trips in '07, '09, '10, '11 and finally again during the 4th of July in 2018, for a total of 7 trips. I had come to realize that the best camping is when the lake is super low like in this video. On our trip in 2011, the water level was 40 feet below full pool so there weren't many beaches exposed except on the main lake. Also, the location at Rock Creek is close to Dangling Rope Marina that is only accessible by boat, where there is gas, ice and food if needed. We still have the same boat and after watching this vid, I think we might have to return this year too. You captured the feel of the area including Horseshoe Bend so well. Great drone photography, clean edit and I dig the song too!

Thanks Billy! The water levels are SUPER low, which exposed a lot of nice sandy beaches. But the water level will slowly increase as the snow melts throughout the Rockies. Some beaches are really nasty due to the clay sediment that will bury you up to the knees. We took our Tacoma out to Warm Creek and got stuck for 12 hours in the mud. Finally winched out after hours of digging out. But got some good shots while stranded (Drew on the dirtbike and the mud flats over the bay). Still a great trip. Boat days, beach days, trails, slot canyons and lots of 4x4 backroads! Spectacular! Even found a great VRBO in the far north of town next to the border. Great views facing East into the lake. Best sunsets and sunrise right from the balcony!

@@billythephoenix Until we got REALLY stuck out at Warm Creek Bay. Twice in one day. To make matters worse, I popped my tire bead while winching out, so had to dig out for 8 hours. Plus, snapped the winch line pulling out. Poor girls were terrified, but we got out on our own.

I've always been intrigued by the beauty of Arizona and you capture that beauty so well in your videos. My wife and I did a hike at Kofa about 14 months ago and it was awesome!

Apache Lake has an average depth of 240 feet! That's scary when it comes to what might be living on the bottom of that Lake.

The sunlight on the landscape in that opening shot was spectacular. Where is the waterfall in the last shot? We live in San Diego and we love playing and exploring the southwest. Awesome vid and editing!
@DogAndEyeProductions6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the compliments. The waterfall is located on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. For details/maps of this special place, please send me an email at [email protected] There are special permits you must obtain ($30 USD) and a few rules that are easy to follow. Weekdays are the best time to go, and you may have the entire place to yourself. To go past the falls, you must hire a White Mountain Apache Guide, as this is sacred land for them. I have contact information available upon request.

Thanks. Nobody inside the truck. The two guys got out right before the surge. Pinal County Sheriff had a good laugh at his costly mistake. Hope everyone stays safe out there.
